  • Panthers' Tre Boston: Should have starting job

    Boston will likely have a starting job, the Panthers' official site reports. With Roman Harper departing in free agency, Boston is the projected starter alongside Kurt Coleman, who makes for the superior IDP option. A 2014 fourth-round selection, Boston does have six career starts to his name, with two of his three interceptions coming in the playoffs.

  • Panthers defensive backs Tre Boston and Roman Harper each scored defensive touchdowns in Sunday's win over Atlanta in Week 17.Harper took a Matt Ryan interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. He finished the game with six total tackles. Boston scored on an 84-yard interception return in the fourth quarter to help clinch the NFC South division in a 34-3 win. He finished with two total tackles.The Panthers will advance to the first round of the playoffs next week against Arizona.

Also hurt is tight end/fullback Richie Brockel (ankle). The healthy scratches are quarterback Joe Webb, safety Tre Boston, linebacker D.J. Smith and guard Andrew Norwell.
