The Buccaneers have announced several roster moves on Tuesday. The team signed tight ends Cameron Brate and D.J. Williams to the active roster. Tampa Bay also waived wide receiver Marcus Thigpen, tight end Ted Bolser and cornerback Quinton Pointer from the practice squad, per the team's official website.
Tight end and seventh-round pick Ted Bolser has been cut by the Redskins. Bolser caught just one short pass in the preseason.
Redskins tight end Ted Bolster, a seventh-round pick, struggled at the team's rookie minicamp, reports the Washington Post. "He didn't have trouble getting open, but he did drop a number of passes and struggled while used on the line as a blocker," the report said. Coach Jay Gruden anticipated Bolser would need work as a blocker because he wasn't asked to do much blocking at Indiana, the paper said.
With the 217th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins selected tight end Ted Bolser from Indiana. The 6-foot-6, 248-pound tight end ran a 4.85-second 40-yard dash at the combine. Bolser totaled 34 receptions for 320 yards and six touchdowns in 2013. He will join a tight end group that includes Jordan Reed, Logan Paulsen and Niles Paul.
