Wright (knee) has been placed on the active/PUP list. Wright starts training camp on the PUP list due to a knee injury. The timetable for the third-year-veteran's return is still unknown.
The Bengals announced a variety of roster moves Tuesday. The team placed the following players on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list: linebacker Vontaze Burfict, defensive end Margus Hunt and linebacker Sean Porter. Offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list, while wide receiver James Wright was waived under the Injured category.
The Bengals will be without top wideout A.J. Green (concussion) and starting tight end Jermaine Gresham (back) for Sunday's playoff game at Indianapolis. They combined for 1,501 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns this season. With those key targets out, quarterback Andy Dalton figures to rely on running backs Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard and wideout Mohamed Sanu. Also inactive for Cincy are quarterback AJ McCarron, defensive back Chris Lewis-Harris, offensive lineman Tanner Hawkinson, defensive lineman Devon Still and wideout James Wright (knee). Cincy is a 3.5-point underdog as Dalton looks for his first playoff win in four tries.
The Bengals have ruled wide receivers James Wright (knee) and Dane Sanzenbacher (concussion) as out for Sunday's wild-card showdown against Indianapolis. Sanzenbacher was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier in the week. Wide receiver A.J. Green (concussion) was ruled doubtful, while tight end Jermaine Gresham (back) and running back Cedric Peerman (concussion, shoulder) were each labeled as questionable.
The Bengals have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 17 matchup with the Steelers: cornerback Terence Newman (illness), wide receivers James Wright (knee) and Greg Little, quarterback AJ McCarron , guard T.J. Johnson, tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive tackle Devon Still. Newman and Wright were both listed as questionable to play in the regular-season finale. The team will have four other questionables available to play against the Steelers. Cincinnat is a 3 1/2-point underdog in Pittsburgh in Week 17.
