  • DT Colin Cole re-signs with Panthers

    The Panthers re-signed defensive tackle Colin Cole to a one-year deal worth $1.05 million, reports the Charlotte Observer. The 6-2, 330-pounder turns 35 in June but remains a key part of the team's defensive line rotation. Cole had 28 tackles and a fumble recovery last year.

  • The Panthers listed a lengthy injury report on Friday, which included five players on the report due to non-injury related reasons leading up to Sunday's Week 7 clash at Green Bay. Those players were defensive tackle Colin Cole, linebacker Thomas Davis, defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, safety Roman Harper and defensive end Charles Johnson. They were all deemed probable for the game. Meanwhile, running back DeAngelo Williams (ankle), running back Fozzy Whittaker (thigh), guard Amini Silatolu (calf), linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee) and cornerback Bene' Benwikere (ankle) all did not practice Friday and were ruled doubtful for Sunday. Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) and running back Darrin Reaves (calf) were the only two players deemed questionable. Running back Jonathan Stewart (knee), tight end Greg Olsen (ankle) and cornerback Josh Norman (concussion) were all ruled probable for Sunday's game.

  • Panthers' probables suit up

    Several Panthers who were listed as probable are active for Sunday Night Football against Pittsburgh. They include running back Mike Tolbert (chest), offensive tackles Garry Williams (hip), Nate Chandler (toe) and Byron Bell (toe), defensive tackle Colin Cole (not injury-related), linebacker Thomas Davis (hip) and defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (back).

  • Panthers defense in good shape for Week 3

    The Panthers listed three players from the defensive side of the ball on the injury report for Week 3 against the Steelers, but are expected to have all of them available for Sunday's game. Defensive linemen Colin Cole (non-injury related) and Dwan Edwards (back), as well as linebacker Thomas Davis (hip) are all probable for Week 3.

  • Panthers will retain DL Colin Cole

    The Panthers have re-signed defensive lineman Colin Cole, according to a report from the Charlotte Observer Tuesday. Cole will return to the Panthers on a one-year deal, after starting 13 games a year ago in his return from a two-year absence due to injuries. Cole played 31 percent of the team's defensive snaps in all, finishing with 15 tackles and a sack. Financial terms of the deal are not yet known.
