The Saints have cut running back Brian Leonard and picked up wide receiver Jalen Saunders off the Seahawks' practice squad, a source has told ESPN.
The Saints received minor contributions from several role players in Week 11 against Cincinnati. Brian Leonard caught his lone target for 15 yards. Joe Morgan was also held to one grab, but finished with only 7 yards. Erik Lorig caught all four of his targets for 5 yards. Josh Hill was targeted once and held without a grab.
The Saints signed running back Brian Leonard, his agent told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He was with the Buccaneers last season after spending four years with the Bengals.
Running back Brian Leonard was the most productive of the small contributors for the Buccaneers in their Sunday loss at New Orleans. He had five rushes for 35 yards, all in the first half, and added three catches for just one yard. Featured back Bobby Rainey had 35 yards on 11 tries and one reception for 1 yard. Fellow back Michael Hill managed one attempt for 3 yards and two catches for 23 yards. Wide receiver Chris Owusu contributed one catch for 5 yards while fullback Erik Lorig had one snag for 3 yards.
Buccaneers running back Brian Leonard, wide receiver Chris Owusu and wide receiver Tiquan Underwood all had minor contributions during a 33-14 loss Week 15 vs. San Francisco. Leonard managed one catch for 12 yards. He didn't record any catches despite being targeted twice. Owusu was targeted five times, totaling three catches for 21 yards. Underwood was also targeted five times, totaling two catches for 15 yards. The Bucs are back in action Week 16 at St. Louis.
