Miller was forced out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks with a rib injury. Prior to his exit, Miller caught five passes for 45 yards, but he's done for the day and will thus target a return to action next Sunday against the Colts.
Miller caught four-of-seven targets for 40 yards in the Steelers' 30-9 win over the Browns on Sunday. Heading in to Pittsburgh's Week 11 bye, Miller is averaging just three receptions for 35 yards per game, and has only scored one touchdown. Fantasy owners should be looking at other tight end options in the final weeks of the season.
Miller caught three-of-six targets for 32 yards in Pittsburgh's 38-35 win against Oakland on Sunday. After his 10 catch, 105 yard game in Week 8, expectations were high for Miller against the Raiders. Not only did he fail to deliver, rookie tight end Jesse James scored a 4-yard touchdown in his first NFL game. With only two bye weeks remaining on the schedule, and Ben Roethlisberger (foot) expected to miss some time, fantasy owners may want to reevaluate if Miller should be rostered.
Miller had 10 catches on 13 targets for 105 yards -- all team-highs -- during Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Bengals. Miller bounced back in a big way following his first career game without a reception in Week 7 against the Chiefs, finishing with double-digit catches for the first time all season on a season-high number of targets. The return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger from his knee injury certainly played a big role, though Miller's fantasy production has always been fairly inconsistent, as Roethlisberger still throws a large number of passes to his wide receivers. Up next is a Week 9 matchup against a Raiders defense that has given up big games to tight ends this season.
Steelers tight end Heath Miller failed to catch either of his two targets in the Steelers' 23-13 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. Miller, who continues to be used more as a blocker than a receiver, snapped his consecutive games played streak with a catch at 110 dating back to 2008. He could see his value increase with the return of Ben Roethlisberger (knee), who expects to start against the Bengals in Week 9, but it would be advisable to take a wait-and-see approach before inserting Miller in fantasy lineups.
