Douglas turned five targets into just two catches for 16 yards in Thursday's loss to the Jaguars. Douglas ranked third on the team in targets, but still finished with his lowest yardage total since Week 6. The former Falcon hasn't found the end zone since the season opener, and he could soon fade further into obscurity with fellow possession receiver Kendall Wright nearing a return.
Douglas caught all three of his targets for 26 yards Sunday in Carolina. Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for just 185 yards, so there wasn't much production to go around. Fellow receiver Justin Hunter went down with an ankle injury late in the game, leaving Douglas and rookie Dorial Green-Beckham as the team's only healthy receivers heading into next week's divisional clash with Jacksonville. The added opportunities will be nice, but Douglas will have to improve his rapport with Mariota to take advantage.
Douglas (ribs) turned in his best game of the season in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Saints, catching all five of his targets for 73 yards. Douglas' return coincided with an injury to Kendall Wright, thus opening up additional opportunities for the former Falcon to draw the eye of quarterback Marcus Mariota. Wright and Douglas both thrive on underneath and intermediate routes, which makes it difficult for the two to be consistently productive when both are healthy.
Douglas (ribs) practiced fully again Friday and is slated to play Sunday against the Saints. With top wideout Kendall Wright out for the contest, Douglas -- who previously worked with interim coach Mike Mularkey (his former offensive coordinator) while the two were both with the Falcons -- could see his share of targets in the Tennessee offense Sunday, with his fantasy prospects bolstered by the return to action of starting QB Marcus Mariota.
Douglas (ribs) practiced fully Wednesday. Douglas is trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Saints approaches, which is a break for the Titans, given that top WR Kendall Wright is iffy for the contest.
