As part of their final roster moves, the Buccaneers placed defensive end Larry English on the injured reserve list with a knee injury that he suffered during the team's final preseason game, per a team release. English played in 12 games last season for Tampa Bay, registering 12 tackles and one sack.
The Buccaneers have re-signed defensive ends Larry English and Lawrence Sidbury in addition to tight end Luke Stocker and linebacker Jason Williams, the team has announced. All four were set to become free agents Tuesday. Stocker was the only player of the four to not sign a one-year deal, getting a three-year extension with the team. Stocker played 13 games in 2014, totaling seven catches for 41 yards.
The Buccaneers have re-signed safety Major Wright. They also re-signed defensive end Larry English and linebacker Jason Williams. Wright, going into his sixth season in the NFL, tallied 51 total tackles last year, while starting seven games at strong safety. English, a former first-round selection of the Chargers in 2009, tallied one sack and one forced fumble in his first campaign with the team last year. Williams was signed after Brandon Magee was placed on injured reserve last year. He only saw action in three games in 2014.
The Buccaneers have made QB Josh McCown, CB Johnthan Banks, S Dashon Goldson, LB Jonathan Casillas, DE Larry English, OL Kevin Pamphile and OL Kadeem Edwards inactive Week 6 against the Ravens. Goldson and Casillas were the only players ruled out prior to Sunday. McCown entered the game considered doubtful. Banks was listed as questionable.
A handful of Buccaneers have been deemed questionable for the Week 6 clash against the visiting Ravens. That quintet is cornerback Johnthan Banks (neck), center Evan Dietrich-Smith (illness), defensive end Larry English (hamstring) and wideouts Vincent Jackson (rib) and Mike Evans (groin). The latter two are expected to play, however.
