Barwin recorded a sack, his seventh of the year, in Sunday's 35-30 win over the Giants. Barwin's sack production was halved from last season to this year, as the Eagles' defense on the whole was less effective in pressuring opposing quarterbacks. He still piled up 45 tackles and seven passes defensed, but he only forced one fumble and didn't come up with an interception. Ultimately, the stud linebacker didn't live up to his preseason expectations.
Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin recorded one sack and four tackles in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Jets. Barwin dropped the same stat line in back-to-back weeks and has two sacks on the year. He has been used plenty in defensive coordinator Bill Davis's pass rushes and has looked just as strong as he did in 2014. He's likely limited to one sack per game unless he has another October outburst, but Barwin is a consistent playmaker to keep an eye on.
Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin has restructured his contract to remain with the team, he said in a tweet Wednesday. Barwin spent his first four seasons with the Texans before joining the Eagles in 2013. Last year he had a career-high 14.5 sacks. In six seasons in the NFL he has recorded 232 total tackles, 38.5 sacks, one interception and four forced fumbles.
Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin recorded 3.5 sacks and tied for the team lead with eight tackles in Monday's blowout of the Panthers. Barwin has 10.5 sacks this season, tied for second with Baltimore's Elvis Dumervil. Barwin is one-half sack shy of the career high he set in 2011 with the Texans.
