Tight end Tony Moeaki was signed by the Falcons on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. With Jacob Tamme (concussion) still recovering in the wake of a Week 4 absence, Moeaki could serve as the No. 2 tight end behind Levine Toilolo in Sunday's game against the Redskins. A third-round draft pick back in 2010, Moeaki has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and he no longer possesses the high-end athleticism he had upon entering the league.
The Falcons announced they've signed tight end Tony Moeaki after earlier announcing the signing of tight end Jacob Tamme. Moeaki, 27, played in six games for the Seahawks last season, catching eight passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. He hasn't made a big impact since 2012, when he had 33 grabs for 453 yards and a touchdown with Kansas City. Moeaki and Tamme join Levine Toilolo in Atlanta's tight end group.
Seahawks starting right tackle Justin Britt (knee) and safety Jeron Johnson (elbow) are questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Packers. Britt missed practice on Wednesday and practiced in full Thursday before participating in a limited fashion Friday. He'll be a gametime decision, and Alvin Bailey will be plugged into the starting lineup if Britt can't go, Pro Football Talk reports. The team had four players listed as probable to face the Packers, including tight end Tony Moeaki (calf), center Max Unger (ankle), defensive tackle Tony McDaniel (shoulder) and cornerback Tharold Simon (illness).
The Seahawks did not report any players as out, limited or did not participate on Thursday's practice report. Seven players made the report, with all seven being listed as practicing in full. That group includes running back Marshawn Lynch (not injury related), tight end Tony Moeaki (calf), tackle Justin Britt (knee), center Max Unger (ankle), defensive end Michael Bennett (not injury related), defensive tackle Tony McDaniel (shoulder) and safety Jeron Johnson (elbow). Seattle is a 7 1/2-point favorite at home against Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game Sunday.
The Seahawks have listed Marcus Burley, Landon Cohen, Lemuel Jeanpierre, Jeron Johnson, Keavon Milton, Tony Moeaki, and Kevin Norwood as inactive for the team's Divisional Round game against the Panthers. Johnson was the only player who was ruled out prior to the contest. Moeaki came into the game listed as questionable due to a calf injury. The other five players are healthy inactives.
