Mickey Shuler Jr. is back for his second stint with the Falcons. While the 2010 seventh-round pick will be battling for a roster spot in training camp, first-year coach Dan Quinn already seems impressed with the 6-foot-4, 247-pound tight end. "(Shuler) has come back in, and he looks strong," Quinn said, per the AJC.com. "We'll get a better evaluation of him when we get into camp. I have a sense that he may really thrive as a blocker in this system. It will be interesting to see what he can do." Shuler has just two catches for 44 yards in nine career games (three starts).
The Jaguars signed tight end Mickey Shuler to their practice squad and waived wideout Kerry Taylor from the squad, the team announced.
The Jaguars activated wide receiver Ace Sanders to the 53-man roster Saturday, waiving tight end Mickey Shuler in a related move. Sanders was suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
The Jaguars have ruled out four players for their Week 5 game against the Steelers. They are cornerback Dwayne Gratz (concussion), wide receivers Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) and tight end Mickey Shuler (illness). The other players on their Friday injury report are probable. They are defensive ends Ryan Davis (shoulder) and Andre Branch (hip), defensive tackle Roy Miller (ankle), offensive tackle Austin Pasztor (hand) and linebacker Paul Posluszny (knee).
The Jaguars have listed TE Mickey Shuler, WR Marqise Lee, OL Tyler Shatley, OL Austin Pasztor, WR Tavarres King , LB Jeremiah George and CB Jeremy Harris as inactive Week 4 against the Chargers. Both Lee and Shuler had been ruled out prior to the game. Pasztor was considered probable, so the move comes as a surprise.
