The Cardinals have announced the release of 13 players. They are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Curtis Taylor, guards Senio Kelemete and Chilo Rachal, wide receivers Mike Thomas, Charles Hawkins and Dan Buckner, linebackers Zack Nash and Colin Parker, tight ends Alex Gottlieb and Richard Quinn, center Adam Bice and defensive tackle David Carter. Guard Jonathan Cooper (leg) has been played on season-ending IR.
Mike Thomas was among the more promising wide receivers in the NFL a few years ago, but his career is now going in the wrong direction. He was waived Friday by the Cardinals, reports azcentral.com. Thomas caught 158 passes for 1,688 yards for Jacksonville from 2009 to 2011. He peaked in 2010 with 66 receptions for 820 yards. But he caught just 18 passes last season and has been released by both the Lions and Cardinals this month.
