Those on offense are quarterback Tajh Boyd and Matt Simms, wide receivers Clyde Gates and Stephen Hill, running backs Daryl Richardson and Alex Green, tight end Chris Pantale, linemen Brent Qvale and Caleb Schlauderaff. The defenders imclude defensive backs Rontez Miles, Jeremy Reeves, Johnny Patrick, Dimitri Patterson and Brandon Dixon, linemen Zach Thompson, Kerry Hyder and Tevita Finau and linebackers Garrett McIntyre and A.J. Edds. Linebacker Antwan Barnes has been placed on the PUP list.
Jets cornerback Dimitri Patterson, who has suspended by the team for the rest of the preseason for allegedly going AWOL, told ESPN that those allegations are "completely false." "As it relates to my whereabouts and me missing for 48 hours without being seen or heard from me or my representatives is complete false," he said in a statement texted to the media. "My agent reached out to the Jets organization multiple times several hours prior to Friday night's game. My commitment to the Jets organization and to my teammates has never been an issue and never will be an issue. "As it relates to the rumors about my frustration in regards to the dept chart is totally and completely false. In nine years I have never had control over the depth chart." Terms of the suspension indicated that his absense was inexcused. Patterson did not show up for the game against the Giants. His whereabouts were unknown until his agent told the Jets the next day that he was fine. A source said he was unhappy with his role on the team.
