  • Special-teams ace Costanzo joins Bears

News: Linebacker Blake Costanzo, who signed with the Bears late Tuesday, has 71 career special teams tackles, four forced fumbles and four recoveries. His 17 special teams tackles was second on the 49ers last season. "The (Bears) have had some of the top special teams in the league, too, so we've been in contact with them," Costanzo told the San Francisco Chronicle. "They made me an offer and wanted to make me part of their team for the next couple of years. It was a good opportunity for me and my family. I decided to jump on it."
Analysis: Costanzo will help the Bears special teams unit but won't help Fantasy owners because his stats are minimal. If he somehow lands playing time on defense, then things might change.
  • Costanzo lands on IR

News: The Browns placed LB Blake Costanzo on IR Tuesday with a groin injury.
Analysis: Costanzo mostly contributed on special teams for the Browns and had no Fantasy value before this injury. Continue to ignore him.
  • Costanzo limited in walkthrough Monday

News: Browns defensive end Kenyon Coleman did not participate in Monday's walkthrough. Coleman, who missed Sunday's game against San Diego with a knee injury, was hurt in last week's game against Cincinnati. The Browns had 10 other players, including linebacker David Bowens (knee), defensive lineman Robaire Smith (shoulder), linebacker Kamerion Wimbley (knee), linebacker Blake Costanzo (shoulder) and cornerback Eric Wright (hamstring), limited in practice as they began preparing for Thursday night's game against Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Costanzo is just a very low-end Fantasy option in IDP leagues. Do not use him Week 14 against the Steelers, regardless of his health.
