    49ers LB Ahmad Brooks charged with sexual battery

    Linebacker Ahmad Brooks has been indicted on one count of sexual battery for his role in a December incident at former 49ers teammate Ray McDonald's house in which a woman said she was knocked unconscious at a pool, per the Sacramento Bee. Brooks was indicted by the Santa Clara District Attorney's office Tuesday and faces a maximum of six months in jail. He will be arraigned at a later date, according to the DA's office. McDonald was indicted on one count of rape of an intoxicated person. He faces a maximum of eight years in prison. McDonald was released by the Bears this offseason. According to the report, the woman claimed Brooks "groped her person in a sexual manner" when she was unconscious from hitting her head. She added that video surveillance supports the accusation. 49ers GM Trent Baalke said Brooks is returning to California and will not play in the team's preseason contest Saturday against Denver.

    The 49ers have deemed running back Carlos Hyde (ankle), wide receiver Steve Johnson (knee) and safety Eric Reid (concussion) as out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. It is the second straight game out for both Hyde and Johnson. Hyde finishes his rooke season with 83 carries for 333 yards and four touchdowns while Johnson had 35 catches for 435 yards and three touchdowns this year. Wide receiever Bruce Ellington (hamstring), cornerbacks Tramaine Brock (hamstring) and Perrish Cox (shoulder) and linebacker Ahmad Brooks (thumb) are all listed as questionable. The 49ers are currently 6 1/2-point favorites against Arizona Sunday.
