Bears' Sherrick McManis: Cleared to play Sunday

McManis (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports. McManis passed through the league's concussion protocol fairly quickly, as he suffered the injury last week against the Redskins and was back on the field for practice Friday. He'll likely work as the Bears' nickel back for Week 15.

Bears' Sherrick McManis: Records eight tackles

McManis made a season-high eight stops in the Bears' 37-34 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Despite not working as one of the Bears' starting cornerbacks, McManis still saw the field plenty often, as the Lions took 76 offensive snaps in the overtime thriller. The tackle output Sunday represents nearly half of McManis' total stops (17) for the season.

If McManis plays well, Porter may be bumped down to the fourth or fifth spot on the depth chart upon rejoining the team.
