    Bears bring back two players

The Bears announced Sunday night that defensive tackle Nate Collins and quarterback Jordan Palmer will be back with the team in 2014, reports the Chicago Tribune. Both have signed one-year deals. Collins, 26, played in five games for the Bears last season, credited by team stats with 13 tackles and a sack before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in a Week 5 home loss to the Saints. Palmer spent training camp with the Bears in 2013, was released before the start of the regular season but then rejoined the club in late-October after starting quarterback Jay Cutler tore a groin muscle. Palmer remained on the roster through season's end but did not see action in any of the team's final nine games. He could be No. 2 behind Cutler this season if Josh McCown leaves as a free agent.
