    Redskins complete cut-down Saturday

    The Redskins have sliced their roster down to the league-mandated 53 with several cuts on Saturday. Included among the waived offensive players are running backs Evan Royster, Lache Seastrunk and Chris Thompson. Also gone from that side of the ball are wide receiver Nick Williams and lineman Maurice Hurt . Defenders cut loose are cornerback Chase Minnifield, linebacker Everette Brown and safety Phillip Thomas. Placekicker Zach Hocker has also been waived. The Redskins have also placed defensive tackle Chris Neild and linebacker Darryl Sharpton on the reserve/injured list and defensive end Stephen Bowen and wide receiver Leonard Hankerson on the PUP list.

    Silas Redd survives as Redskins dump three running backs

    The Redskins have cut running backs Lache Seastrunk, Chris Thompson and Evan Royster, leaving the third spot behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu to Silas Redd. Royster is the most notable of the departures. But his reps have lessened in each of the last three seasons.

    Redskins running back Evan Royster is nursing a hamstring pull sustained Friday and is not practicing Saturday, per the Washington Post. Royster finished last season on IR with an ankle injury after having been limited to two carries all year.

    Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and his receiving targets will gather in Arizona next week to "knock off some rust and get a jump on offseason workouts," reports the Washington Post. The receivers scheduled to attend include Pierre Garcon, Aldrick Robinson, Santana Moss, new additions Andre Roberts and David Gettis, tight end Jordan Reed and running backs Alfred Morris, Evan Royster and Chris Thompson.

    Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said running back Evan Royster will finish the season on injured reserve after suffering a high ankle sprain Week 14 against the Chiefs.

    Evan Royster carted off with ankle injury

    Redskins running back Evan Royster twisted his left ankle on a 3-yard catch early in the second quarter Week 14 against the Chiefs and had to be carted off the field. He was ruled out for the rest of the contest with a high ankle sprain. Royster had just the one catch before leaving. He entered the game with only two touches all season.

    Redskins get offensive contributions

    A slew of Redskins made small offensive contributions Week 13. Receiver Santana Moss caught a 15-yard pass and had a 10-yard run. Receiver Aldrick Robinson had a 9-yard carry and was targeted twice without a catch. Tight end Fred Davis caught two passes for 13 yards, his first catches since Sept. 15. He also had a terrible drop late in the fourth quarter. Wideout Josh Morgan caught a 10-yard pass, and wideout Nick Williams had a 6-yard grab. Fullback Evan Royster ran twice for zero yards. They'll face the Chiefs in Week 14.

    Three Redskins healthy enough to play

    Redskins defensive lineman Stephen Bowen (knee), tight end Logan Paulsen (knee) and running back Evan Royster (back) are active for Week 11 at Philadelphia. Bowen was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, and Paulsen and Royster were listed as probable.
