Panthers' Charles Johnson: Expected to be on snap count

The Panthers don't want Johnson (hamstring) to play more than 30 snaps in Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports. Johnson will be activated from IR/designated to return at some point Tuesday, setting him up to play in a game for the first time since Week 3. He should be a solid IDP option for Week 13, but owners can probably do better for Week 12, given that Johnson will be limited.

Panthers' Charles Johnson: Set to be activated

Johnson (hamstring) will be activated from IR/designated to return on Tuesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports. Johnson may still need to practice, but it sounds as if he's expected to return for Thursday's game against the Cowboys. His return would provide a big boost for a defense that got along just fine without him.

Panthers place DE Charles Johnson on short-term IR

Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve/designated to return. Johnson was already expected to miss multiple games, and he can now officially be ruled out until Week 12. Although it's still a huge loss for the Carolina defense, the Panthers did trade for fellow defensive end Jared Allen to mitigate the impact of Johnson's absence. Allen's name may carry more weight, but Johnson is the far superior player at this stage of their respective careers.

Panthers DE Charles Johnson (hamstring) to miss at least one game

Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson (hamstring) won't play Week 4 against the Bucs, coach Ron Rivera said Monday. Johnson suffered a significant hamstring injury during Sunday's win over the Saints and will consequently miss Carolina's Week 4 contest. While the Panthers' Week 5 bye allows Johnson another week to get healthy, it remains to be seen whether his injury will hamper him beyond the next couple weeks.

Report: Panthers DE Charles Johnson could miss several weeks

Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson sustained a hamstring injury Sunday against the Saints and could miss "several" weeks, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports. Johnson left in the second half with only one assisted tackle on the ledger, bringing his season-long line to five tackles (two solo) and one sack. His diagnosis should be known within the the next few days, but Mario Addison and Wes Horton (shoulder) are present to pick up the slack at defensive end in Johnson's stead.

Unheralded Thielen leads Vikings receivers Sunday

Vikings second-year wideout Adam Thielen entered Sunday with just five catches for 69 yards on the season. He nearly doubled those totals in the win over Chicago. Thielen caught three passes for 68 yards and contributed a 44-yard touchdown reception from Teddy Bridgewater in the third quarter. His efforts led an otherwise mediocre performance by the wide receivers. Also contributing were Greg Jennings (3-45), Jarius Wright (3-25) and Charles Johnson (2-22).

    Charles Johnson emerging late

Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson put together another big game in Week 14 against the Jets, and has to be on all Fantasy radars down the stretch. Johnson, a seventh-round pick who bounced around on two different rosters, has found a home for the future in Minnesota. He hauled in four of eight passes thrown of his way Sunday, leading the team in targets, and finished second with 103 yards, the first 100-yard performance of his career. More than half of the yards came on a 56-yard touchdown, his second in three games. Johnson started to see his role increase in Week 11, when he had six receptions for 87 yards. In four games since, he is averaging 9.8 Fantasy points per game in standard scoring, thanks to a pair of touchdowns and 283 yards in four games. Johnson's limited track record of success still makes him hard to rely on, however if you are in need of help at the wide receiver position for the final few weeks of the season, Johnson is well worth a pickup. He should also be viewed as a must-add player in all dynasty or keeper leagues.
