    Chiefs' Allen Bailey out for Sunday, Tamba Hali questionable

    On the team's final injury report of the week, the Chiefs list defensive end Allen Bailey(concussion) as out for Sunday's game. Bailey missed last week's game as well. Cornerback Phillip Gaines (concussion) is considered as doubtful. Linebacker Tamba Hali, who participated on a limited basis Friday, is questionable for Sunday with a knee injury. Hali missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. He has five sacks and three forced fumbles this year. The following players are listed as probable: Husain Abdullah, Donnie Avery, Jamaal Charles, Anthony Fasano, Junior Hemingway, James-Michael Johnson, Joe Mays, Chris Owens and Sean Smith.

    Chiefs activate Joe Mays from IR, waive Jerry Franklin

    The Chiefs activated inside linebacker Joe Mays from injured reserve Saturday and waived linebacker Jerry Franklin, the team announced. Mays was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return in early September after undergoing wrist surgery during the preseason. His return will give a boost to the inside of the defense, as the Chiefs have had to roll with Josh Mauga and James-Michael Johnson inside after expecting to have Mays and Derrick Johnson at the inside linebacker positions.
