    Raiders continue to add, cut players before mandatory minicamp

    The Raiders were busy on Thursday as they continued to alter their roster before the start of manadatory minicamp, Adam Caplan of reports. The team cut tight end Scott Simonson and linebackers Jacoby Hale and Miles Burris. Oakland added wide receiver Kris Durham and linebacker Chase Williams.

    Raiders release LB Henry Burris

    Linebacker Miles Burris wrote on his Instagram that he has been released by the Raiders, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Burris started all 16 games for the Raiders last season and recorded 109 tackles, 76 of them solo. His release appears to be a casualty of Oakland going in a new direction with its coaching staff, as Burris was preferred by former defensive coordinator Jason Tarver.

As expected, linebacker Sio Moore (ankle), quarterback Matt Schaub (non-injury related) and wide receiver Rod Streater (foot) have all been ruled out.     Raiders might be down two starting LBs Week 4

    With Miles Burris (foot), Sio Moore (ankle) and Nick Roach (concussion) all recovering from injuries, the Raiders might have to start Kaluka Maiava and Bojay Filimoeatu at linebacker alongside Khalil Mack during Sunday's game against the Dolphins, according to "We'll continue to monitor that situation, but I'm hopeful that one or maybe two of (the injured players) could be ready," head coach Dennis Allen said. "We'll just have to see how the week goes."

    Miles Burris healthy after lost season

    Raiders linebacker Miles Burris said he's fully healthy after a 2013 season in which he was plagued by knee problems. He had knee surgery following his 2012 rookie season. "There's nothing like playing the game of football and playing the game of football healthy," Burris told "You're always going to be nicked up but I'm feeling great and enjoying playing the game."Burris made 15 starts as a rookie and finished with 62 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and three passes defensed. He practiced with the first team at weakside linebacker this offseason, the report said.
