Bears LB Shea McClellin nets nine tackles in Week 2 loss

Bears linebacker Shea McClellin recorded nine total tackles in Sunday's 48-23 loss to the Cardinals. For the second straight week, McClellin paced the Bears in stops, benefiting greatly from the Cardinals' decision to run the ball 28 times. McClellin seems to have taken well to the move to inside linebacker, but he may need to string together a couple double-digit tackle games before those in IDP leagues jump on board.

LB Shea McClellin about to move inside for Bears

Shea McClellin might move twice over the next year. The Bears have already stated they will decline his fifth-year option, which means McClellin could wind up elsewhere in 2016. But before that, he will be moving on the field. McClellin has been switched from outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense to inside in a 3-4. And defensive coordinator Vic Fangio believes it should work out. "When he came out of college, he was a versatile guy and played a lot of different positions," Fangio told ESPN. "Maybe now it's time to lock him down to an inside linebacker spot. ... I want to see him (there) for a while." McClellin has also played defensive end and has yet to find a permanent home. The 19th overall selection in the 2012 draft did set a career-high last with 84 tackles and 4.5 tackles for losses.
