    Shea McClellin: Signs with Patriots

McClellin has reached an agreement with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. McClellin's 81 tackles left him second on the Bears in 2015 despite the fact that he was limited to 12 games by a concussion and a knee injury. It was by far his most successful NFL season as he seemed much better fit for the inside linebacker position than his previous spots on the outside or at defensive end. The Patriots run a 4-3, so it will be interesting to see how he fits into their defense.

Bears' Shea McClellin: Finishes with 81 tackles in 12 games

McClellin recorded 81 tackles in his 12 games with the Bears during the season. McClellin ended up finishing second on the team in tackles, but likely would have led the Bears had he not missed three games due to a knee injury and one contest due to a concussion. He was able to return from the head injury in advance of the Week 17 loss to the Lions, but only played 11 snaps, as the Bears elected not to overwork him. Even so, the team's coaching staff seemed very satisfied with McClellin in his first season as a middle linebacker, so he could be back as a starter for the club in 2016.

Bears' Shea McClellin: Active for Week 17

McClellin (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions, ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson reports. McClellin was only a limited participant in practices this week, but after enduring no further setbacks in his recovery from a concussion, the Bears signed off on his return. Injuries have forced McClellin to miss four games this season, but he's been reasonably effective when he's on the field, producing 81 tackles over 11 games.

    Bears' Shea McClellin: Inactive Sunday

McClellin (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. McClellin didn't practice all week due to the head injury after failing to progress quickly enough through the league's concussion protocol. He'll miss his fourth game of the season as a result, paving the way for Christian Jones to rejoin the starting lineup.

    Bears' Shea McClellin: Active Sunday

McClellin (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Redskins. After being limited in Wednesday's practice session, McClellin logged full practices Thursday and Friday to eliminate any doubt about his status for Week 14. After an inconsistent first three seasons in the NFL, McClellin appears to have found a home as a 3-4 inside linebacker. He ranks second on the team with 66 tackles, despite playing in only nine of 12 games.

Bears' Shea McClellin: Picks up nine tackles in Week 13

McClellin amassed nine tackles in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the 49ers. Since returning Nov. 15 from a three-game absence due to a knee injury, McClellin has put himself on the map for those in deep IDP leagues looking for extra help at linebacker. In his last four games, McClellin has compiled 33 tackles to go along with a forced fumble and a recovery. He's been consistent with his production, too, finishing with between six and 10 stops in all four of those games.

    Bears' Shea McClellin: Active Sunday

McClellin (knee) is active Sunday against the Broncos. McClellin missed three games before returning last weekend, finishing that game with eight tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, and he'll now line up against a Broncos' offense with Brock Osweiler under center.

Bears' Shea McClellin: Questionable to face Denver

McClellin (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. McClellin returned from a three-game absence in Week 10 against the Rams, recording eight tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He was then limited throughout the week of practice, but it will be surprising if he actually misses Sunday's game.

    Bears' Shea McClellin: Active Sunday

McClellin (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. McClellin's left knee injury sidelined him for the Bears' past three games, but the fourth-year pro was cleared by the team training staff to play after logging limited participation in all three practices this week. He'll likely start at one of the inside linebacker spots, where he's accrued 33 tackles over five games this season.

Bears' Shea McClellin: Questionable for Sunday

McClellin (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. McClellin hasn't played in the Bears' last three games due to a left knee injury he suffered in a Week 5 win over the Chiefs. He did participate in practice this week but was limited, which is a step in the right direction for the 2012 first-round pick. If he isn't able to go, look for Jonathan Anderson and LaRoy Reynolds (knee) to see an increased role Sunday.
