With the Eagles' running back corps back to full health, Barner will be inactive for the third time in five games this season.     The Eagles announced their final cuts to trim the roster to 53 players Saturday. The following players were all released Saturday: linebackers Emmanuel Acho and Josh Kaddu; defensive linemen Wade Keliikipi and Damion Square; defensive backs Curtis Marsh, Roc Carmichael, Keelan Johnson and Ed Reynolds; quarterback G.J. Kinne; running backs Kenjon Barner (waived/injured), Henry Josey and Matthew Tucker; wide receiver Ifeanyi Momah, Quron Pratt, Will Murphy and Damaris Johnson ; kicker Alex Henery; and offensive linemen Kevin Graf and Josh Andrews. The team also added wide receiver Arrelious Benn (back) and linebacker Travis Long (knee) to injured reserve.

    Kenjon Barner departs exhibition finale with ankle injury

    Eagles running back/return specialist Kenjon Barner suffered a left ankle injury in the first half of Thursday's preseason finale against the Bills. X-rays came back negative, and the team ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

    Eagles acquire Kenjon Barner from Panthers

    The Eagles acquired running back/return specialist Kenjon Barner from the Panthers Tuesday in exchange for a 2015 conditional seventh-round pick. Barner was a potential cap casualty for the Panthers after seeing just six carries in his rookie season last year. A sixth-round pick in the 2013 draft, Barner played under Eagles coach Chip Kelly at Oregon.

    The Charlotte Observer named second-year running back Kenjon Barner one of its training camp disappointments. With Jonathan Stewart sidelined early and the Panthers limiting DeAngelo Williams' reps, Barner "had a great opportunity to make a mark," the paper said.     With DeAngelo Williams sidelined by a quadriceps injury and the game well in hand late in the second half, Panthers running back Kenjon Barner, who entered the game with only one carry all season, got five carries Week 13 against the Buccaneers, including four in the fourth quarter. He gained only 6 yards, however.
