    Report: Giants release LB Ashlee Palmer

    Linebacker Ashlee Palmer is expected to be cut from the Giants on Saturday, a source told Palmer was signed in late August after various injuries to the linebacker core. He had 12 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in 16 games last season.

    The injury-plagued Giants have signed veteran linebacker Ashlee Palmer, who spent the last five years with Detroit, per the New York Post. New York is already missing fellow linebackers Jon Beason (knee), Mark Herzlich (concussion), Jonathan Casillas (neck) and Tony Johnson (knee). Palmer started just five games last season and contributed to eight tackles.

    Former Lions LB Ashlee Palmer upset he's still unsigned

    Free agent linebacker Ashlee Palmer is frustrated that he hasn't generated much interest since his contract with the Lions expired in February. Palmer sent a series of tweets, complaining about the fact that he's still unsigned. "Wow! Maybe I should have attended the Veteran's Combine," he wrote, then added, "A productive player for 6 years in multiple roles... STILL NOT SIGNED!! LOL." Palmer has not missed a game in five years with the Lions. He has 12 tackles, one and a half sacks and two pass defenses last year.

The most prominent are wide receiver Calvin Johnson, running back Reggie Bush and safety Louis Delmas with knee injuries and cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin). Others are linebacker Ashlee Palmer (ankle), tight end Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring), defensive lineman Andre Fluellen (concussion) and running back Theo Riddick (concussion). As expected, wide receiver Nate Burleson (forearm) and tackle Corey Hilliard (knee) have been ruled out. Offensive linemen Jason Fox (knee) and Riley Reiff (hamstring) are questionable.
