    Saints re-sign special teams ace Ramon Humber

    The Saints announced that they have reached a new two-year contract with special teams captain Ramon Humber. Humber has spent the previous five seasons with the Saints. He started six games at linebacker a year ago and totaled 50 tackles, one sack and one pass deflection. Humber had a season-best 12 tackles in a Week 10 game against the 49ers.

    The Saints and inside linebacker Ramon Humber have indicated "mutual interest" to get a deal done, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune. With the release of middle linebacker Curtis Lofton, losing Humber would leave "a void in the middle," the paper said. Humber, 27, made 50 tackles in 15 games last season and served as the backup to Lofton and David Hawthorne, who remains under contract.
