    Panthers cut seven, place WR Benjamin on IR

    The Panthers reached the NFL's 75-man limit Tuesday thanks to a series of moves, including placing star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin on the season-ending injured reserve list with a knee injury, per a team release. Carolina waived WR Jarrett Boykin, DT Kenny Horsley, S Robert Lester and WR De'Andre Presley, placed OT Davonte Wallace and CB Melvin White on the waived/injured list and reached an injury settlement with DT Micanor Regis.

    Panthers to have Brown, DeCoud and White on Saturday

    The Panthers will have Philly Brown, Thomas DeCoud and Melvin White on Saturday against the Seahawks. All three players entered the game listed as questionable. Brown is dealing with a shoulder injury. DeCoud has a hamstring issue. White is battling an ankle injury.     Philly Brown among notable Panthers players questionable

    The Panthers have listed Star Lotulelei (foot) out for Sunday's divisional playoff game against the Seahawks. Lotulelei suffered the injury last week against Arizona, and could be injured reserve-bound. Meanwhile, the other four players on Carolina's final injury report were deemed questionable.     Two questionable for Panthers with Sunday game looming

    Defensive end Charles Johnson (hip) is one of two Panthers deemed questionable for the Sunday battle against visiting Chicago. The other is tight end Ed Dickson, who is also dealing with a hip issue. Ruled out are tight end Richie Brockel (ankle) and running back DeAngelo Williams. Fellow running back Jonathan Stewart (knee) is doubtful while linebacker Thomas Davis (hip), cornerback Melvin White (thigh) and running back Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) are all probable.

    Panthers defense has quality performance

    The Panthers defense played well Sunday in Week 17 at Atlanta, highlighted by nine sacks in a 21-20 victory. The leader of the defense was Greg Hardy with four sacks. Charles Johnson also added two sacks. Melvin White also had an interception for a touchdown. The Panthers are off until the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They locked up the No. 2 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye after winning the NFC South title.

    Panthers RB Kenjon Barner, S Robert Lester and CB Melvin White are considered probable for Week 7 against the Rams. Both Barner and Lester were able to practice in full all week. White was limited during Thursday's practice with concussion symptoms.
