Eagles' Zach Ertz: Inks extension with Eagles

Ertz has signed a five-year contract extension with the Eagles, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Ertz's new deal will reportedly make him the NFL's fourth highest-paid tight end, and keep him with the Eagles through 2021. At 25 years old, Ertz set new career-highs with 75 catches (on 112 targets) for 853 yards this season, when he also scored two touchdowns.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Finishes season with career game

Ertz caught all nine of his targets for a career-high 152 receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Giants. The third-year pro was dominant on Sunday, as he led the team in targets, yards and receptions for the second straight week. Ertz finished the season on a high, as he caught 35 passes and averaged 112.5 over the last four games, which easily represents the best stretch of his career. Ertz appears to be trending up heading into year four, although it remains to be seen how he will be affected by all of the changes likely to occur in Philadelphia during the offseason.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: 122 yards in loss to Washington

Ertz caught 13 of 17 targets for 122 yards -- all team-highs -- during Saturday's loss to Washington. Quarterback Sam Bradford threw 56 passes during the game, connecting with 10 different receivers, though Ertz was the dominant one of the group. Ertz has been targeted 30 times in the last two games, and he'll look to continue his solid play in Week 17 against the Giants, who he caught four passes on seven targets for 43 yards against back in Week 6.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Gets career-high 13 targets

Ertz caught eight passes for 78 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 13 targets in Sunday's 40-17 loss to the Cardinals. Ertz was checked for a concussion after taking a big hit in the first half, but he was ultimately cleared and didn't miss much time. He also appeared to get a bit banged up in the fourth quarter, though no injury has been reported. Ertz and Jordan Matthews were the entire Philadelphia passing game, after Ertz and Nelson Agholor did the honors the previous week. Even though he's the Eagles' most consistent weapon, Ertz will likely be closer to his typical 6-8 targets in Week 16 against Washington.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: 98 yards in close win

Ertz caught five passes for 98 yards in Sunday's win over the Bills. Ertz caught the longest pass of his career in the fourth quarter, a 41-yard catch-and-run that set up the Eagles' game-winning field goal. Quarterback Sam Bradford continues to find Ertz in the air, and with the Eagles' offense clicking better than it has all year, Ertz has space to work among the team's weapons and get open. His production has been improving all season long.

    Eagles' Zach Ertz: Active Sunday

Ertz (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills. The hip injury didn't prevent Ertz from practicing all week, so he's expected to be on tap for a normal workload Sunday. Even so, Ertz only caught two passes and his first touchdown of the season last week against the Patriots in his return from a concussion, which speaks to the lack of impact he's made in the passing game. He's failed to record more than seven catches or accrue more than 70 receiving yards in any contest this season.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Hauls in TD in win over Patriots

Ertz caught two passes for nine yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-28 win over the Patriots. Ertz finally caught his first touchdown of the season, while being relatively limited otherwise by New England's impressive linebacking corps. When quarterback Sam Bradford is playing, Ertz has been his clear-cut No. 1 tight end option, over fellow tight end Brent Celek, and will likely continue to be going forward. But because of the Eagles' offense-by-committee approach, his upside is normally contingent on touchdown catches.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Suits up Sunday

Ertz (concussion) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. He's out there if you need him this week, and though Brent Celek is also in the mix, Ertz is generally the better bet to garner TE targets in the Eagles' offense.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Probable for Week 13

Ertz (concussion) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Ertz sat out last week's game after suffering a concussion the week before, but he is set to return to action Sunday in Foxborough. He will face a tough Week 13 matchup against a Patriots team that allowed just one touchdown to opposing tight ends over its last eight games.

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Practices in full Wednesday

Ertz (concussion) practiced in full Wednesday. Ertz was unable to emerge from the concussion protocol in time for last Thursday's win at Detroit, but his unhinged showing this Wednesday indicates that he's been given the all clear from an independent neurologist. Expect his availability for Sunday's game in New England to be clarified in due time.
