Deji Karim has 30 rushing yards

Texans running back Deji Karim carried the ball eight times for a team-high 30 rushing yards in Sunday's 37-13 loss to the Broncos. Karim also caught one pass for -1 yards. With Dennis Johnson not finding a rhythm -- and possibly dealing with an injury -- Karim became the preferred back in the second half. He looked solid in the offense, and had a long run called back for a holding penalty, so his numbers could have looked slightly better. Since he is a Texans running back, though, Karim did find himself limping off the field and into the locker room as the game came to a close. He was replaced by Jonathan Grimes. The Texans face the Titans in Week 17.

    Dennis Johnson among fringe contributors

The Texans got small contributions from running back Dennis Johnson, running back Deji Karim and wide receiver Keshawn Martin in a blowout loss Week 15 at Indianapolis. Johnson -- the most notable of the three -- spelled starter Ben Tate throughout the contest, finishing with four carries for 12 yards and one catch for 3. Karim came in later, when the outcome was already decided, finishing with four carries 21 yards. Martin, who scored a touchdown on four catches last week, had one catch for 13 yards. He's up to 17 catches for the season.

Texans coach 'very worried' about RB situation

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday injured running backs Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs) did not practice Monday as the team is coming off a Week 8 bye. Kubiak added he's "very worried about the running back situation," which is why he said Dennis Johnson, Deji Karim and Ray Graham were all signed to the active roster. Johnson, Karim and Graham all practiced Monday, while Foster and Tate sat out. Tate said he thinks he will be able to play Week 9 against the Colts, according to ESPN.
