    The Buccaneers cut five players Tuesday to get down to the NFL-mandated 75-man limit, with the biggest name being punter Michael Koenen. Tampa Bay decided to go with first-year punter Jacob Schum over the veteran Koenen. The rest of the Bucs' cuts include guard Josh Allen, WR Robert Herron and corner Leonard Johnson. Defensive tackle Akeem Spence was placed on the PUP list.

    The Buccaneers announced Monday defensive lineman Akeem Spence has been suspended without pay for the season opener for violating the NFL's policy on substances of abuse. He will be eligible to return Week 2 at New Orleans. Spence was arrested in Jan. 2014 in Alabama. He was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, which are both misdemeanors, per NFL.com.
