Steelers unveil final round of preseason cuts
The Steelers announced their final round of cuts to trim the roster to 53 players Saturday, as they parted ways with 22 players. The Steelers released defensive backs Isaiah Green, Dayonne Nunley, Shaquille Richardson and Ross Ventrone, linebackers Chris Carter, Howard Jones and Dan Molls, and defensive linemen Ethan Hemer, Josh Mauro, Roy Philon and Nick Williams on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, the team cut tight ends Rob Blanchflower, Bryce Davis and David Paulson, running backs Josh Harris and Stephen Houston, wide receivers Derek Moye and Lanear Sampson, offensive linemen Graham Pocic, Will Simmons and Guy Whimper, and quarter Brendon Kay.

Cowboys add Lanear Sampson to practice squad
The Cowboys signed rookie receiver Lanear Sampson, a Baylor product, to their practice squad. Sampson was cut by the Colts in the preseason.

Colts move toward 53-man roster
Only first-rounder Anthony Castonzo remains from the 2011 draft by the Colts. That's because they waived second-round tackle Ben Ijalana and third-round defensive tackle Drake Nevis on Saturday, according to NBC Sports. The following is a list of their other cuts: linebackers Monte Simmons and Daniel Adongo, safety Larry Asante, center Thomas Austin, cornerback Marshay Green, defensive end Lawrence Guy, quarterback Chandler Harnish, fullback Robert Hughes, tight end Dominique Jones, wide receivers Lanear Sampson, Jabin Sambrano and Jeremy Kelley, tackles Lee Ziemba and Bradley Sowell and nose tackle Martin Tevaseu. The team also waived/injured tackle Emmett Cleary, linebacker Shawn Loiseau and cornerback Dax Swanson.
