    Seahawks RB Tharold Simon placed on IR Saturday

    Seahawks running back Tharold Simon has been placed on injured reserve Saturday, per Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR. Simon dislocated his toe a week before the regular season opener and briefly played in Week 2 before dislocating it again. With the team hurting at that position, Rod Smith was called up from the practice squad to take Simon's place on the roster.

    Seahawks S Earl Thomas (shoulder) will be ready by September

    Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that safety Earl Thomas is expected to be good to go following offseason shoulder surgery, according to Carroll said cornerback Tharold Simon's shoulder is recovering well from surgery too. "Everything we're hearing is things are going really well and the surgeries were very successful," Carroll said. "There's just a time frame we have to make it through." Thomas had 97 tackles and one interception in 2014. Simon recorded 13 tackles and one interception.

    Seahawks starting right tackle Justin Britt (knee) and safety Jeron Johnson (elbow) are questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Packers. Britt missed practice on Wednesday and practiced in full Thursday before participating in a limited fashion Friday. He'll be a gametime decision, and Alvin Bailey will be plugged into the starting lineup if Britt can't go, Pro Football Talk reports.     As expected, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will play on Saturday against the Panthers. Lynch was listed as probable due to a back injury, but was never expected to miss the game. He's been battling the injury throughout the whole season, but has not missed a game. The team will also have Michael Bennett, Demarcus Dobbs, Cooper Helfet, Jermaine Kearse, Byron Maxwell and Tharold Simon for the game. All six players were also listed as probable going into the contest.
