Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Concussions derail 2015 campaign

Hawkins (concussion) finished the year with 27 catches for 276 yards. He missed eight games after sustaining multiple concussions. Hawkins saw three or more targets in each of the team's first seven games before sustaining his first concussion. The slot receiver then sat the next two contests before returning for his best game of the year Week 10 against Pittsburgh, where he caught seven passes for 69 yards before sustaining yet another concussion. He'll presumably be cleared from concussion protocol for the start of the 2016 season, where Hawkins will remain under contract with the organization. The veteran will compete to earn back a starting job as a slot receiver next year.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Lands on injured reserve

The Browns placed Hawkins (concussion) on injured reserve Wednesday. Hawkins has been sidelined since suffering his second concussion of the season Nov. 15, and the Browns ultimately decided to place him on injured reserve, which ends his season. Hawkins started all eight games he played in this year and is not due a hefty salary in 2016, so chances are he remains with the Browns next season.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Remains sidelined this week

Hawkins (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Seahawks, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The Browns have not shut Hawkins down for the season at this stage, which suggests that the team is holding out some hope that wideout could returmn to the field in either Week 16 or 17.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Remains sidelined Thursday

Hawkins (concussion) did not practice Thursday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. While the Browns have not shut Hawkins down for the season at this time, he's still looking very unlikely to play Sunday against the Seahawks.

    Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Remains sidelined

Hawkins (concussion) did not practice Wednesday. Hawkins remains in NFL's concussion protocol, which makes his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, iffy at best.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Ruled out this week

Hawkins (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Beyond Week 14, Hawkins is viewed as a candidate for IR, and if that move ends up being made, the wideout would finish up the 2015 season with a 27/276/0 line through eight games.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Hawkins (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports. Hawkins has been sidelined since mid-November, and his status for the remainder of the season is questionable at best as the struggling Browns may opt to shut him down until next season. At this rate it appears he won't likely be on the field for the team's Week 14 matchup against the 49ers.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Will remain sidelined

Hawkins (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports. Hawkins remains in the league's concussion protocol, and thus he will remain on the sideline for at least one more game. The Browns are considering placing Hawkins on injured reserve if he does not show improvement in the near future, so it's unclear if he will play again this season.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: IR a possiblity

Hawkins (concussion) is a candidate for IR, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. In any case, Hawkins -- who did not practice Thursday -- is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Bengals, and given that the wideout has sustained two concussions this season, the 2-9 Browns are evidently contemplating shutting Hawkins down.

Browns' Andrew Hawkins: Won't practice Wednesday

Hawkins (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The same applies to fellow wideout Taylor Gabriel, with the status of the duo for Sunday's game against the Bengals thus cloudy at this stage. In Week 12's loss to the Ravens, the Browns' wideout corps was led by Travis Benjamin and Brian Hartline, who combined for 14 catches on 25 targets.
