LB Andrew Gachkar signs with Cowboys

Linebacker Andrew Gachkar has signed a contract with the Cowboys, according to FOX Sports 1. Gachkar has spent the previous four seasons with the Chargers. He was selected by San Diego in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL draft. With the Chargers, Gachkar totaled 120 tackles and one forced fumble. His agent David Canter appeared to confirm the news by tweeting, "How bout Dem Cowboys!!!" while tagging Gachkar in the post.

Chargers list Week 14 inactives vs. Patriots

The Chargers have rulled the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 14 matchup with the Patriots: nose tackles Ryan Carrethers (elbow) and Damion Square, running back Ronnie Brown, wide receiver Dontrelle Inman, guard Jeff Baca, tight end David Johnson and linebacker Cordarro Law. Carrethers had already been ruled out for Sunday's game so his absence won't be unexpected. The team does have all three of its questionable players available for action, as linebacker Donald Butler (quad) and offensive linemen D.J. Fluker (concussion) and Chris Watt (calf) are active. Also active are all the team's probable players, including quarterback Philip Rivers (chest), defensive tackle Corey Liuget (knee) and linebacker Andrew Gachkar (knee).

NT Ryan Carrethers only Chargers player ruled out for Week 14

The Chargers have only ruled out one player for Sunday's clash against the Patriots. Nose tackle Ryan Carrethers will miss Week 14 because of a nagging elbow injury. Tackle D.J. Fluker (concussion), defensive tackle Corey Liuget (knee) and guard Chris Watt (calf) were deemed questionable. Meanwhile, outside linebacker Dwight Freeney (rest), inside linebacker Andrew Gachkar (knee) and quarterback Philip Rivers (chest) were all designated as probable.

Only one ruled out by Chargers for game against Ravens

The Chargers have not ruled out anyone aside from nose tackle Ryan Carrethers (elbow) for their Sunday game in Buffalo, though linebacker Andrew Gachkar is doubtful with a knee injury that has prevented him from practicing this week. Guard Ryan Miller (groin) is questionable while safety Jahleel Addae (concussion), running back Ryan Mathews (shoulder) and wideout Eddie Royal (toe) are probable.

  • Gachkar inks four-year deal with Bolts

News: The Chargers were able to sign a host of picks from April's NFL Draft on Wednesday. Among them was former Mizzou LB Andrew Gachkar, who was selected in the seventh round. Gachkar's four-year deal was signed just before camp began.
Analysis: Gachkar will have to fight just to make the 53-man roster coming out of camp, so Fantasy owners should not put stock in him until he proves his worth on the field. For now, Gachkar is not worth selecting in any format on Draft Day.
  • Chargers bulk up at CB, LB

News: In addition to first-round pick DT Corey Liuget, the Chargers selected two cornerbacks and two linebackers in April's draft. The team picked up Clemson CB Marcus Gilchrist (Round 2), Michigan LB Jonas Mouton (Round 2), USC CB Shareece Wright (Round 3) and Mizzou LB Andrew Gachkar (Round 7).
Analysis: All four of these guys will provide depth for the Bolts but are not close to starting or being impact players for Fantasy. Mouton has some mild long-term potential and could be worth a late flier in the deepest of dynasty/keeper leagues and rookie-only drafts. Otherwise, no one listed above will produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use.
