    Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams had surgery on May 28 for a papillary type 2 cancer, on Thursday he announced via his Twitter account that he has been cleared to begin working out. It's been less than a month since Williams was diagnosed with cancer.

    Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams is scheduled to have kidney surgery on Thursday, the team announced. This surgery will take place 10 days after he was diagnosed with Papillary Type 2 cancer. "He's a battler all the way," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He's been up against it, too. He's fought some difficult fights, and he's fighting another one - maybe the fight of a young man's life. "We'll be there with him and hope to pull him through."

    Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams was diagnosed with Papillary Type 2 cancer and will undergo kidney surgery, the organization announced. "Although disappointing, I am a fighter and will handle this," Williams said in a written statement. "I am going to focus on my health and fighting this battle with a return to football as my ultimate goal. Thank you for your thoughts and support. Go Hawks!" Williams was re-signed by the Seahawks on April 1 on a restructured contract. "Jesse is an extraordinarily tough individual who has overcome a great deal in his life and we will support him in any way possible," Seahawks general manager John Schneider said. "He is in our thoughts and prayers."

    Seahawks re-sign DT Jesse Williams, FB Will Tukuafu

    The Seahawks brought back two familiar faces on Wednesday. According to the NFL's transaction wire, the Seahawks re-signed defensive tackle Jesse Williams and fullback Will Tukuafu. Williams was waived in early March but said, via, that he was going to re-sign on a restructured contract. Tukuafu was signed to the Seahawks in 2014 after the 49ers released him. He played in nine games for Seattle.
