Quarterback, punter headline Friday cuts by Bills
Quarterback Jordan Palmer and veteran punter Brian Moorman are the two most significant cuts announced by the Bills on Friday. Palmer was let go three days after his signing. He had been cut by Chicago on Tuesday. He has only played in five regular season games in five years. Moorman has been booting for the Bills as the No. 1 punter 2001, aside from one season with Dallas. The other cuts are linebacker Xavius Boyd, defensive tackle Landon Cohen, tight end Dominique Jones, cornerbacks Kamaal McIlwain and Sam Miller, fullback Evan Rodriguez, wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt and center Jared Wheeler.

Chiefs begin shaping up roster
The Chiefs have waived or released the following players: CB Vince Agnew, DE Miguel Chavis, WR Terrance Copper, OL Ryan Durand, OL Hutch Eckerson, DB Otha Foster III, OL A.J. Hawkins, DE Rob Lohr, CB Kamaal McIlwain, RB Jordan Roberts, WR Tyler Shoemaker, QB Ricky Stanzi, DB Neiko Thorpe and FB Braden Wilson.

McCown dropped from Sainthood
The New Orleans Saints began paring down their roster Monday and released the following players: quarterback Luke McCown; tight end Jake Byrne; wide receivers Marques Clark, Kevin Hardy and Derek Moye; defensive backs Kamaal McIlwain, Cord Parks and Johnny Thomas; defensive linemen Remi Ayodele, Swanson Miller and Donavan Robinson; and linebacker Aaron Tevis.
