    Report: Redskins cut 13 players, including Jerry Rice Jr. on Monday

    The Redskins released 13 players Monday, according to The Baltimore Sun. The players included Ricky Sapp, Austin Spitler, Jerry Rice Jr, Thomas Wolfe, Kenny Okoro, Ty Nsekhe, Gabe Miller, Rishaw Johnson, Kenneth Horsley, Isaako Aaitui, Steve Beauharnais, Braylon Bell and Edawn Coughman.

    Dolphins announce final cuts to get down to 53

    The Dolphins have completed their series of cuts to pare down their roster to the league-mandated 53 heading into the regular season. The dispatched offensive players are quarterback Seth Lobato, linemen Tony Hills, David Arkin, Sam Brenner and Evan Finkenberg , wideouts Kevin Cone and Matt Hazel, running backs Marcus Thigpen and Daniel Thomas and tight end Evan Wilson . Among the defensive players let go are linemen Isaako Aaitui, Garrison Smith, Tevin Mims and D'Aundre Reed, linebacker Andrew Wilson and defensive backs Jordan Kovacs and Kevin Fogg. Placekicker Jake Rogers has also been waived. The Dolphins have also placed defensive tackle on IR and defensive end Dion Jordan and safety Reshad Jones on the reserve/suspended list.

    Dolphins sign seven players

    The Dolphins signed defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, running back Cameron Marshall, tight end Kyle Miller, tight end-fullback Emmanuel Ogbuehi, offensive tackle Michael Ola, wide receiver Ryan Spadola and offensive tackle Jason Weaver. Ola played in the CFL the past two seasons, while the rest ended 2013 on Miami's practice squad.

    Injured defensive back Dimitri Patterson (groin) and center Mike Pouncey (illness) headline the Dolphins' inactives list for Week 12, unveiled prior to kickoff against the Panthers Sunday.     Isaako Aaitui promoted to active roster

    Dolphins nose tackle Isaako Aaitui has been promoted to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Aaitui made the roster after DT Marvin Austin was released earlier in the week.

    Courtney Roby among Saints cuts

    The Saints terminated the contract of Courtney Roby, a longtime special teams ace and a wide receiver for New Orleans. Other contracts terminated: defensive end Jay Richardson, cornerback Chris Carr and safety Jim Leonhard. Center Eric Olsen was placed on Injured Reserve.In addition, the Saints waived the following 17 players from the roster: quarterback Ryan Griffin, wide receiver Preston Parker, fullback Austin Johnson, wide receiver Saalim Hakim, guard Elliott Mealer, tight end Keavon Milton, tight end Mike Higgins, guard Andrew Tiller, center Jeremiah Warren, linebacker Rayford Shipman, linebacker Rufus Johnson, defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, safety Jerico Nelson, linebacker Baraka Atkins, tackle Marcel Jones, cornerback Korey Lindsey and cornerback Jumal Rolle.

    Aaitui surfaces with Jets

    The Jets continued tweaking their roster Saturday and released defensive lineman Marcus Dixon, according to the New York Post. The team also claimed three players off waivers: defensive lineman Isaako Aaitui; wide receiver Clyde Gates; and tight end Konrad Reuland.
