The Browns re-signed McLeod (biceps) on a one-year deal Saturday, per The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The veteran safety is back with Cleveland after spending his 2023 campaign with the Browns. McLeod appeared in just 10 games (five starts) last season due to a biceps injury, but he was fairly productive when on the field, logging 29 total tackles and defending one pass. The 33-year-old also contributed on special teams with 108 special teams snaps in 2023, and he's expected to compete for a similar role this offseason.... See More ... See Less

Colts' Rodney McLeod: Moves into starting role
McLeod started at strong safety and had five total tackles, two passes defensed and an interception in Sunday's win over Kansas City. McLeod played on all 59 of the defense's snaps as he got increased playing time with rookie Nick Cross moving back to the bench (just one snap on defense). It looks like McLeod has a starting role and should continue to get plenty of snaps with Julian Blackmon possibly missing time with a sprained ankle.... See More ... See Less -
Colts' Rodney McLeod: Dealing with undisclosed injury
The Colts placed McLeod (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Sunday, Chris Widlic of CBS4Indy reports. McLeod signed a contract with the Colts at the beginning of April following three seasons with the Eagles. The extent of his injury remains unknown, but he's eligible to return at any point before the initial 53-man roster deadline. When available, he figures to play a key role in Indianapolis' secondary.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Clears COVID protocols
McLeod was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. McLeod spent a week in COVID protocols and was forced to miss the Eagles' Week 18 game with the Cowboys. Now healthy, McLeod should get the start at strong safety against the Buccaneers.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Won't play Week 1
McLeod (knee) is officially listed as out for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports. McLeod was activated off of the PUP list before the 53-man roster deadline, which gave Philly optimism that he would be available for Week 1. However, the Eagles will elect to be cautious and won't rush their starting safety back from his torn ACL. K'Von Wallace and Marcus Epps are the most likely candidates to fill in for McLeod.... Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Leaves game with injury
McLeod (knee) will not return to Sunday's game against the Saints, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. McLeod is one of three members of Philadelphia's secondary to be forced out of Sunday's game, alongside Darius Slay (concussion) and Avonte Maddox (knee). The Eagles already have Cre'von LeBlanc (ankle) and Craig James (shoulder) on IR.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Upgrades to limited practice
McLeod (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. McLeod wasn't able to log any practice reps Wednesday, so it's encouraging to now see him working on at least a restricted basis. It looks as though McLeod, who hasn't yet missed a defensive snap this season, has at least a shot to suit up in Pittsburgh on Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Plays 17 games in 2019
McLeod played all 16 regular-season games, registering 76 tackles (46 solo), a sack, two interceptions and six pass breakups in 2019. He also logged two tackles (one solo) in the Eagles' wild card loss to Seattle. McLeod bounced back to his former self after missing most of 2018 with a torn ACL and MCL. He came just seven tackles shy of his career high and recorded just his second career sack. The 29-year-old heads into the offseason scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, so he could very well be with another team in 2020.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Re-works contract for 2019
McLeod (knee) signed a re-worked contract with Philadelphia for the 2019 season, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. McLeod tore his ACL and MCL this past season and was likely to be cut if he didn't agree to a re-worked contract. The specifics of his deal are unclear, but he'll plan on playing for the Eagles for at least another year.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Will require season-ending surgery
McLeod was diagnosed Monday with a torn MCL in his knee and will require season-ending surgery, a league source told Derrick Gunn of NBC Sports Philadelphia. McLeod has served as the Eagles' starting free safety for the last two seasons and change, accruing 148 tackles and six interceptions across 33 regular-season contests. The Eagles were hopeful that McLeod avoided a significant setback after being forced out of the Week 3 win over the Colts, but follow-up tests confirmed that the 28-year-old needed surgery. Expect Philadelphia to place McLeod on injured reserve in the near future, with the team perhaps using the open roster spot to upgrade its depth in the secondary. McLeod's injury will likely press Corey Graham into a starting role at safety alongside Malcolm Jenkins.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Records interception in second straight game
McLeod recorded two tackles (one solo), an interception and a pass defensed in Sunday's 51-23 win over the Broncos. The performance marks McLeod's fifth straight contest with a pass defensed and second in a row with an interception. The Virginia product played all but one defensive snap in this game and seems to be fully recovered from the hamstring injury that hampered him earlier in the season.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Practices at full speed all week
McLeod (hamstring) was a full participant all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Dave Zangaro of CSN Philadelphia reports. It's odd that the Eagles haven't removed the injury tag after McLeod practiced all week, but it's likely precautionary in case of setbacks. The Chargers offense has been stagnant and turnover-prone, so expect McLeod to have a solid game with a chance to make some plays in coverage.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Won't return Sunday
McLeod (hamstring) is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Fellow safety Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) also is out for the remainder of the game, leaving the Eagles secondary thin. Corey Graham and Chris Maragos will continue to fill in for the time being, but it'd be a good idea to monitor McLeod's recovery ahead of Week 3's matchup with the Giants.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Does it all Sunday
McLeod did a little bit of everything in Sunday's win over the vikings recording seven tackles, a sack, an interception, and a forced fumble. McLeod has seen has production increase over recent weeks. He followed up a season high 14 tackles in Week 6 with another productive outing across the board in Sunday's win. His sack on former teammate Sam Bradford was his first of the season, and his interception was his third take away. He will look to continue his stellar play in Week 8 as the Eagles take on the Cowboys.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Rodney McLeod: Records 14 tackles in Sunday defeat
McLeod recorded 14 tackles Sunday against Washington. McLeod posted his highest tackle total of the season, and after recording five or fewer tackles in each of his first three games, he now has 23 over his last two contests. Although he's never averaged more than five tackles in any of his previous four years in the league, it's possible that he's beginning to emerge as a player in his first year with the Eagles. In addition, he's already tied his career high with two interceptions, so he's clearly trending upward. For now, he's a player to watch, and if he can produce for the next week or two, he'll be a player worth adding in IDP leagues.... See More ... See Less -
