    Buccaneers waive LB Kourtnei Brown

Linebacker Kourtnei Brown was waived by the Bucs on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers official website reports. After being listed inactive Week 1, Brown got on the field for nine defensive snaps and 10 additional plays on special teams this past Sunday against the Saints. The 27-year-old linebacker/defensive end was claimed off waivers by Tampa after being a part of the Texans' final cuts, despite an impressive preseason in which he posted three sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown and a fumble recovery. Brown's roster spot was filled by the signing of former Chief Josh Martin.
