    Report: Panthers sign WR Mike Brown to futures contract

    The Panthers have signed wide receiver Mike Brown to a futures contract, according to jacksonville.com. Brown spent two seasons with the Jaguars, including 2013 when Brown caught 32 passes for 446 yards and two touchdowns. He played sparingly in 2014, catching just seven passes for 88 yards in five games for Jacksonville.

    Jaguars pass catchers contribute in loss

    The Jaguars backup pass catchers were able to get in some work Week 4. Jacksonville spread the ball around quite a bit, allowing 10 different receivers to come up with a reception. Allen Robinson made some noise, hauling in five passes for 38 yards. He was targeted seven times, which was second on the club. Mike Brown had one catch for 12 yards. Fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou also hauled in one pass, gaining 4 yards. Nic Jacobs had the least yardage of all receivers on the day, but had the only touchdown. In the second quarter, Jacobs came down with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles. They'll take on the Steelers Week 5.

    Jaguars backup receivers do little

    The Jaguars backup pass catchers did little Week 3 against the Colts. Will Ta'ufo'ou managed one catch for 28 yards. Mike Brown also had one catch, picking up 14 yards. Marcel Jensen gained 8 yards on one reception. They'll take on the Chargers Week 4.
