Saints' Travaris Cadet: Re-emerges back in New Orleans

In two games with the Saints, Cadet gained 12 yards on four carries and added nine receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown. After suffering a rash of injuries to end the season, the Saints re-signed Cadet, who had appeared in games with both the Patriots and 49ers this season. Cadet had spent the first three seasons of his career with the Saints, before signing in New England this offseason. While he's not much of a runner, Cadet's chops as a pass-catching threat quickly re-surfaced in his two games back with the Saints. It remains to be seen, however, whether Cadet will be back with the Saints in 2016, as he is once again a free agent this offseason.

Saints' Travaris Cadet: Catches 44-yard touchdown

Cadet caught three of five targets for 69 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown, in Sunday's 37-28 win over the Jaguars. He had just one carry for six yards. Cadet was claimed off waivers during the week, returning to his former team, and made an impact in Sunday's win. Meanwhile, Tim Hightower continued to amaze, rushing for 122 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns. With C.J. Spiller a healthy scratch Sunday, expect Cadet to serve as the pass-catching back in the season finale next week at Atlanta.

Saints' Travaris Cadet: Back with former team

The Saints have claimed Cadet off waivers from the 49ers, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. With Khiry Robinson, Mark Ingram and Marcus Murphy all on IR, Cadet gives the Saints some added backfield depth behind Tim Hightower, C.J. Spiller and Kendall Hunter.

49ers' Travaris Cadet: Released in favor of Harris

Cadet was released by the 49ers on Tuesday. After Shaun Draughn (knee) was forced from Sunday's loss to the Bengals due to an injury, it's somewhat surprising that Cadet has been let go. Nonetheless, the 49ers have apparently been unimpressed, as they'll replace Cadet on the roster with fellow running back DuJuan Harris.

49ers' Travaris Cadet: Could enter timeshare with injury to starter

Cadet only ran the ball twice for four yards, but he reeled in four catches for 32 yards in the loss to the Bengals. Starter Shaun Draughn (knee) went down in the first half, so the 49ers deployed a combination of Kendall Gaskins and Cadet in the second half. If Draughn has to miss any time, the team would likely deploy a similar timeshare against the Lions. While Gaskins' attributes are better suited for early-down work, Cadet would be the better option to use on passing downs, and the more desirable play in PPR formats.

49ers' Travaris Cadet: Sees first touches with new team

Cadet received his first touches as a 49er on Sunday, rushing three times for six yards and catching one of his two targets for another six yards. Cadet was brought on to serve as a pass-catching back for the 49ers, but he hasn't been utilized at all since Carlos Hyde (foot) has been sidelined. While Sunday's usage could indicate that OC Geep Chryst believes that Cadet is finally ready for that role, he still won't see nearly as many touches as starter Shaun Draughn.

49ers' Travaris Cadet: Signing in San Francisco

Cadet is signing with the 49ers on Tuesday,'s Ian Rapoport reports. Released by the Patriots back in late September, Cadet now found a situation that could allow him to get some playing time. Cadet could challenge Shaun Draughn and Pierre Thomas for passing-down work, though the 49ers haven't distributed many targets to their running backs this season.

Patriots have James White up, Travaris Cadet down for Sunday

Patriots reserve running back James White is not among their Week 3 inactives Sunday against Jacksonville. Travaris Cadet was scratched by the Patriots on Sunday, with White thus in the team's change-of-pace mix behind LeGarrette Blount and Dion Lewis.

Patriots RB Travaris Cadet probable for Sunday

Patriots backup running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring) is probable for Sunday against Buffalo after practicing fully Friday. Cadet could still be inactive for Week 2 given that New England also boasts such backs as LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White.

Patriots RB Travaris Cadet (hamstring) practices fully Wednesday

Patriots running back Travaris Cadet, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, practiced fully Wednesday. Cadet is thus trending toward being available for Sunday's game against the Bills, though with LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White also in the team's backfield mix, it remains to be seen if he will avoid the Patriots' inactive list in Week 2.
