    Report: Texans re-sign WR Damaris Johnson to one-year deal

    The Texans re-signed slot receiver Damaris Johnson, a restricted free agent, to a one-year, $1 million deal, reports ESPN's Adam Caplan. He caught 31 passes for 331 yards and a touchdown and also served as a punt and kickoff returner.

    Trio of Texans chip in to Week 11 win

    Running back Jonathan Grimes led a trio of Texans making minor contributions to a critical win Sunday in Cleveland. Grimes pitched in with 54 yards on 13 carries to help his team. Also chipping in was wide receiver Damaris Johnson with five catches for 21 yards, as well as one run for six yards, and fellow wideout Keshawn Martin, who caught one passes for two yards.

    Texans receive little help from role players Sunday

    The Texans didn't get much support from their bit players Sunday against Philadelphia. Leading the way among those players was running back Alfred Blue with 13 yards on seven carries and one catch for minus-3 yards, as well as wide receiver Damaris Johnson with two catches for 16 yards.

    Texans' role players contribute Week 7

    The Texans got contributions from several role players in Monday's 30-23 loss at Pittsburgh. Backup running back Alfred Blue ran five times for 14 yards and took a dumpoff pass 11 yards for his first career touchdown. Tight end Garrett Graham caught two of three targets for 24 yards, and wideout Damaris Johnson had a 15-yard reception and a bad drop. Tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz hauled in a 9-yard pass, while receiver Keshawn Martin added a 5-yard grab. They'll all visit the Titans in Week 8.

    Texans backup pass catchers do little Week 6

    The Texans backup pass catchers didn't do much Week 6. Damaris Johnson actually did play a big impact, finishing with 62 yards on three receptions. He caught every pass thrown his way. Johnson's 62 yards was good for second on the team. Tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz also contributed, catching one pass for 7 yards. Garrett Graham was targeted one time, but did not come up with a reception. They'll take on the Steelers Week 7.

    Every Texans probable good to go Week 6

    Every player listed as "probable" on the Texans injury report is active Thursday against the Colts. Studs like J.J. Watt, Arian Foster and Brian Cushing will play. Alfred Blue and Ryan Fitzpatrick were also cleared. The club will also have A.J. Bouye, Akeem Dent, Tim Jamison, Damaris Johnson, Ben Jones, Johnathan Joseph, Shane Lechler, Derek Newton, Ryan Pickett, Eddie Pleasant, D.J. Swearinger and Jeff Tarpinian available for the contest. All 12 players were listed as probable entering the game.

    Texans place 18 probables on Wednesday injury report

    All but one of 18 players listed by the Texans as probable for their Thursday night game against Indianapolis was a full participant at Wednesday practice. The exception is cornerback Johnathan Joseph (knee), who was limited. The other defensive probables are cornerback A.J. Bouye (groin), safeties Eddie Pleasant (ankle) and D.J. Swearinger (elbow), linebackers Jeff Tarpinian (thigh), Brian Cushing (knee) and Akeem Dent (shoulder), and defensive linemen Tim Jamison (groin), Ryan Pickett (knee) and J.J. Watt (thigh). The offensive probables are running back Alfred Blue (knee), linemen Derek Newton (ankle), Brandon Brooks (ankle) and Ben Jones (knee), quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (calf) and wide receiver Damaris Johnson (foot). Punter Shane Lechler (hip) is also probable.

    The Texans have listed nine players as probable Week 5. Duane Brown, Brian Cushing, Akeem Dent, Damaris Johnson, Ben Jones, Johnathan Joseph, Shane Lechler, Chris Myers and D.J. Swearinger should all be able to go during the contest. Defensive end Tim Jamison comes into the game listed as questionable. He's dealing with a groin injury and was limited in practice Friday.

    Damaris Johnson records first career receiving touchdown

    Texans third-year wide receiver Damaris Johnson recorded his first career receiving touchdown during a 30-17 loss Week 3 at N.Y. Giants. Johnson finished with two catches for 56 yards. Johnson's touchdown came on a 44-yard catch-and-run late in the third quarter, as he got behind two New York defenders to make the play. The touchdown cut the deficit to 17-10 with 2:13 left in the third quarter. Johnson had all of two catches for 5 yards through Houston's first two games. The Texans are back in action Week 4 vs. Buffalo.

    The Texans received minor contributions from several role players in a Week 2 win over the Raiders. In the passing game, tight end Garrett Graham and Damaris Johnson were each limited to one catch on one target. Graham caught a 26-yard pass in the first quarter, and Johnson caught a 4-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick on the opening drive. Jonathan Grimes rushed for 9 yards on three carries, while Ronnie Brown gained 2 yards on three carries.
