Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Manages 77 yards total offense but has key fumble in Wild Card loss

Hill gained 50 yards on 12 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, and secured three of four targets for 27 yards in Saturday's 18-16 Wild Card loss to the Steelers. He also lost a key fumble in the fourth quarter. The third-year pro made one of several fateful mistakes by the Bengals in the last two minutes of the game that led to them snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Hill was stripped by Ryan Shazier at the Steelers 20-yard line with 1:36 remaining and the Bengals attempting to run out the clock after a Vontaze Burfict interception of Landry Jones had appeared to seal the win. The 23-year-old received some extra playing time after fellow back Giovanni Bernard was knocked out of the contest with a concussion, and ran well in his opportunities against a stalwart Steelers run defense. Hill did have a less productive season than originally expected, but he and Bernard will head into the offseason as a generally effective running back tandem that will look to take their play to the next level in 2016.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Rushes for 96 yards in win

Hill rushed 16 times for 96 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over the Ravens. He also caught two of three targets for 19 receiving yards. Hill failed to rush for a 100 yards in a game during the regular season, though he did top 95 twice. He was very effective Sunday, rushing for a 38-yard touchdown in the third quarter that was his longest run of the year. Backup Giovani Bernard rushed six times for 36 yards and caught one pass for 12 receiving yards, as Hill continues to get a majority of the backfield touches, something that is likely to continue in the playoffs, especially if Andy Dalton is unable to recover from his broken thumb in time for the first-round matchup.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: 63 rushing yards Monday

Hill rushed 19 times for 63 yards and caught two passes for negative two yards in Monday night's loss to the Broncos. Hill once again averaged under four yards per carry Monday, continuing an inefficient season on the ground. While he's still scored 11 touchdowns this season, those came in six different games, leaving much to be desired in the nine games he didn't score in.

    Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Scores twice

Hill had 19 carries for just 31 yards in Sunday's 24-14 win at San Francisco, but scored a pair of short touchdowns. He failed to haul in his lone target. A week after matching his season low with seven carries, Hill was given a ton of work, although he didn't touch the ball in the first quarter, as Giovanni Bernard got the start. Bernard was alos not effective on a per play basis, rushing for just 33 yards on 14 carries, although he did catch all four of his targets for 18 yards. With starting QB Andy Dalton most likely out for the remainder of the regular season, expect the team to continue to lean on Hill over the final two games, despite the fact that AJ McCarron is competent. Next week, Hill will have a stiff test at Denver.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Limited to 24 yards against the Steelers

Hill rushed for 16 yards on seven carries and caught two passes off of two targets for eight yards. Sunday was just Hill's third game of the season with fewer than 10 touches and the first time this season that neither he nor Giovani Bernard saw double-digits. Don't expect that to become a trend. Pittsburgh's explosive offense and stout defensive front forced the Bengals into passing situations. With second-year quarterback A.J. McCarron expected to take over in the short term, the Bengals would be wise to ease the pressure off of the young quarterback with a sound running game.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Rushes for 98 yards against Cleveland

Hill carried the ball 22 times for 98 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Cleveland. Cleveland entered the game with the second worst rushing defense in the league, so Cincinnati chose to ride Hill throughout the game, as he tallied his highest total of carries and yards for the season. Hill has now topped his previous season high in rushing yards in consecutive weeks. After scoring five touchdowns in the first four games of the season, Hill struggled through a five-game stretch without a rushing touchdown. He has since found the end zone thrice in his past three games. As cold-weather football approaches, Hill could enjoy continued exposure during the season's final four weeks.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Not listed on injury report

Hill (ankle) is not listed on the Bengals' Week 13 injury report. Hill left this past Sunday's game against the Rams with an ankle injury, but afterward said he was okay, a notion supported by the fact that he isn't even listed on the Bengals' Wednesday practice participation/injury report.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Gets some work in Wednesday

Hill (ankle) practiced Wednesday. It remains to be seen if Hill was limited or practiced fully Wednesday, but his participation in any capacity bodes well for his Week 13 status, after having left this past Sunday's game against the Rams in the fourth quarter.

Bengals' Jeremy Hill: Says he's okay

Hill, who left Sunday's game against the Rams with an ankle injury, suggested afterward that he is okay. While it's encouraging that Hill is downplaying his ankle issue, his status will nonetheless be worth tracking as next Sunday's game against the Browns approaches.
