Colts' Jack Doyle: Signs qualifying offer

Doyle has signed his qualifying offer to remain with the Colts. Following Coby Fleener's departure in free agency, there figures to be some added snaps available for Doyle in 2016, though Dwayne Allen remains the Colts' top option at tight end, from a fantasy perspective. Doyle finished up the 2015 season with 12 catches for 72 yards and a TD in 16 games for Indy.

Colts' Jack Doyle: Receives qualifying offer

The Colts extended a qualifying offer to Doyle on Thursday, the team's official site reports. Initially plucked off waivers from the Titans in September of 2013, Doyle has only missed one game over the past three seasons, but his presence has rarely been felt in the box score. Overall, he's gathered in 35 of 43 targets for 209 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season, while adding seven more catches (on 10 targets) for 30 yards in five postseason tilts. Fellow tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener are about to embark on unrestricted free agency, so if one or both aren't retained, Doyle could make a move up the depth chart.

Colts' Jack Doyle: One catch in Week 17

Doyle had one catch on one target for three yards during Sunday's win over the Titans, finishing the 2015 season with 12 catches for 72 yards and one touchdown on 14 targets in 16 games played. The 25-year-old tight end primarily served as a blocker throughout the season, but received a slight uptick in minutes after Dwayne Allen's season-ending injury in November. Doyle is set to become a restricted free agent, but if he winds up staying with the Colts don't expect an increase in value, given the team also retains Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen.

Colts TE Jack Doyle has three-catch, 32-yard outing Week 3

Colts TE Jack Doyle had three receptions for 32 yards and was targeted three times in Sunday's win over Tennessee. Doyle had a larger role with Dwayne Allen out due to a knee injury. Doyle is mostly a blocking tight end and will likely only get a few balls thrown his way per game, if Allen remains out.
