Vikings' Adam Thielen: Posts 83 total yards against Packers

Thielen (shoulder) had 67 rushing yards on two attempts Sunday and added one reception for 16 yards on his lone target against the Packers. The majority of Thielen's rushing yardage came on a 41-yard scamper on a fake punt early in Sunday's contest and he added 26 yards on a reverse in the fourth quarter. Thielen did suffer a shoulder injury in Sunday's game, according to the Pioneer Press, but he believes he'll be available Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Seahawks.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen breaks through with six-catch Sunday

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen had six receptions for 70 yards on eight targets in Week 4 defeat to Denver. Thielen got more playing time with Charles Johnson out with a rib injury and Jarius Wright limited with a hand injury. Thielen was third on the team in targets as both he and Stefon Diggs had breakout games. With Charles Johnson struggling even before the injury, there may be an opening for Thielen to get a larger role in the passing game.

Injuries could mean Sunday start for Vikings WR Adam Thielen

Vikings wideout Adam Thielen could start this week against the Broncos with Charles Johnson out with a rib injury and Jarius Wright a game-time decision with a hand injury, per ESPN 1500. Thielen appeared to move ahead of Cordarrelle Patterson to move to No. 4 on the wide receiver depth chart as he got two targets in last week's game. However, it's not clear if Thielen would start at receiver if there's an opening.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen totals two catches Week 3

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen had two receptions for 11 yards and was targeted four times in Sunday's win over San Diego. Two of Thielen's targets were early in the game, so his increase in playing time wasn't totally due to a blowout win. They were Thielen's first targets of the season and he's in a run-first offense, so don't expect him to get much more work. However, he may have overtaken Cordarrelle Patterson to move to No. 4 on the wide receiver depth chart.

Jarius Wright to be Vikings' slot receiver

With the release of veteran Greg Jennings, the Vikings are moving forward with Jarius Wright as their slot receiver. "We're in good shape with Jarius Wright, and Adam [Thielen] has gotten some snaps there as well," offensive coordinator Norv Turner told KFAN 1003. Wright, 25, caught a career-high 42 passes for 588 yards last season, with two touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 71 yards. Thielen, 24, had eight catches for 137 yards and a touchdown.

Unheralded Thielen leads Vikings receivers Sunday

Vikings second-year wideout Adam Thielen entered Sunday with just five catches for 69 yards on the season. He nearly doubled those totals in the win over Chicago. Thielen caught three passes for 68 yards and contributed a 44-yard touchdown reception from Teddy Bridgewater in the third quarter. His efforts led an otherwise mediocre performance by the wide receivers. Also contributing were Greg Jennings (3-45), Jarius Wright (3-25) and Charles Johnson (2-22).

Vikings' Adam Thielen leads the way Thursday

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen led all Minnesota receivers with 57 yards Thursday against the Packers. With the team getting blown out, Thielen had more opportunities to show what he could do. He didn't receive his first reception until late in the third quarter, but still managed to make an impact. Thielen made his final three receptions on the team's final drive. Thielen will take on the Lions Week 6.
