Steelers TE Heath Miller catches just one pass in Week 4 loss

Steelers tight end Heath Miller caught one pass for one yards on two targets in Thursday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Ravens. The Steelers went run-heavy in the absence of Ben Roethlisberger (knee), with Mike Vick attempting just 26 passes. Only three Steelers drew more than two targets, and Miller made his biggest impact as a run-blocker. He has just 13 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown on 18 targets through four games, despite hauling in eight passes for 84 yards in the opener. Given his lack of recent involvement in the offense, in combination with Roethlisberger's absence, Miller seems to be headed for one of the least productive receiving seasons of his career, even though he's still a very useful player for the Steelers.

Steelers tight end Heath Miller catches two passes in Week 3

Steelers tight end Heath Miller caught 2 of 3 targets for 17 yards in Pittsburgh's 12-6 win over St. Louis Sunday. Miller was unproductive for the second straight game, and now faces the prospect of having Michael Vick at quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger (knee) left the game. In addition, Martavis Bryant (suspension) returns after the Steelers' Week 4 game against the Ravens, which could further decrease the number of targets Miller gets.

Steelers TE Heath Miller scores touchdown in win

Steelers tight end Heath Miller had two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' 43-18 win over the 49ers Sunday. After seeing 11 passes thrown his way in Week 1, Miller was targeted only twice against San Francisco. Still, the touchdown, as well as a two-point conversion, salvaged his day for fantasy owners. Week 3 has him facing a Rams defense that has yielded 133 yards and a touchdown on 12 receptions to opposing tight ends through two games.

Troy Polamalu among notable Steelers probable for playoff game

The following players for the Steelers have been ruled as probable for Saturday's wild-card clash against Baltimore: Offensive tackle Mike Adams (illness), nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), tight end Michael Palmer (groin), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related), cornerback Ike Davis and safety Troy Polamalu (knee). Polamalu has missed the previous two games and four of the last seven due to numerous injuries. His teammates scoffed at the idea that the Steelers are better off without the services of Polamalu, after he was a surprise inactive in Week 17. However, Will Allen could cut into Polamalu's playing time on Saturday, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Pittsburgh is a 3-point home favorite against Baltimore.

Trio of Steelers make strong contributions to Sunday win

As usual, no Steelers receiver could match what Antonio Brown produced Sunday against Atlanta. But a trio certainly helped the team to victory. The best of the bunch were tight end Heath Miller, whose 26-yard snag late in the third quarter helped him finish with 68 yards on four receptions, and wideout Markus Wheaton, who made good on all five targets for 66 yards. Martavis Bryant pitched in with three catches for 31 yards.

Steelers tight end Heath Miller had just one catch in Sunday's win over the Bengals, but it was a big one. It was Miller's first touchdown since Week 8 against the Colts. He now has 583 yards and three touchdowns on the year. The Steelers will face the Falcons in Week 15.
