    Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst was atrocious Week 17 against the Colts, completing 12 of 28 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown in a 27-10 loss. Whitehurst averaged 2.6 yards per pass attempt. Appearing in seven games due to injuries to Jake Locker and Zach Mettenberger, Whitehurst completed under 57 percent of his throws for seven touchdowns against two interceptions. He's slated to return in 2015 as a backup.

    Titans QB Charlie Whitehurst tosses one score on Thursday

    Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst tossed one touchdown on Thursday against the Jaguars. Whitehurst completed 24 of 35 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown. He did not turn the ball over during the contest. Whitehurst looked to attack Jacksonville down the field, averaging 8.2 yards per completion. This sometimes came back to bite him, as he wound up taking four sacks. Whitehurst's only score came on the team's first drive. On the 13th play of the drive, Whitehurst found running back Leon Washington for the 8 yard score. Whitehurst also picked up 12 rushing yards on three attempts. Depending on the team's injury situation at quarterback, Whitehurst may be in line to start next week against the Colts.

    Titans' Charlie Whitehurst passes for 203 yards in relief

    After quarterback Jake Locker left the game with a shoulder injury, Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst came off the bench to throw for 203 yards in a 16-11 loss to the Jets Sunday. Whitehurst completed 10 of his 24 pass attempts, but did not throw a touchdown or an interception. He also rushed for 9 yards on two attempts. The game appearance was Whitehurst's first since Oct. 19. The Titans will play at Jacksonville Thursday.

    Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed quarterback Jake Locker, not Charlie Whitehurst, will be the starter moving forward, starting Week 15 against the Jets, reports The Tennessean. Rookie starter Zach Mettenberger reportedly suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Giants, though Whisenhunt maintains there's a chance Mettenberger will return this year.
