Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Inactive on Sunday

The Steelers were again without Williams (foot) on Sunday, who was inactive for their game against the Broncos. Williams proved to be a valuable acquisition as Le'Veon Bell insurance, rushing for 907 yards and 11 touchdowns on 200 carries in 2015. He also caught 40 of 47 targets for 367 yards. His 11 rushing touchdowns were tied for the most in the league (Adrian Peterson, Jeremy Hill, Davonte Freeman), and he finished tenth in the league in rushing yards despite getting more than 20 carriers in just three games. Brought in as a free agent after the Steelers saw the impact that losing Bell in the final game of 2014 had on their playoff run, Williams enjoyed his best season since 2008, only to suffer the same fate in Week 17 this season. With Bell expected to make a full recovery from the MCL/PCL injuries in his right knee, how Pittsburgh utilizes Williams, and the effect that has on his fantasy value, could make him little more than a handcuff next season.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Ruled out for Sunday's game

Williams (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Broncos. With Williams still out, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman are in line carry the Steelers' rushing load Sunday against a rugged Denver defense that allowed an average of 83.6 rushing yards per game during the regular season.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Remains sidelined Thursday

Williams (foot) did not practice again on Thursday. Williams' chances of playing Sunday against the Broncos don't look particularly good, with Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman next up for the team's carries if Williams is unable to play this weekend.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Still sporting a walking boot

Williams was spotted in the Steelers' locker room Wednesday sporting a walking boot on his right foot, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. With that in mind and coach Mike Tomlin having said Tuesday that Williams is "on the outside looking in" as far playing Sunday against the Broncos, we'd be surprised if the running back played this weekend, though at this point Williams has not been ruled out by the Steelers. Next up for the team's carries if Williams is unable to return to action Sunday are Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Still on outside looking in

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Williams (foot) is "still kind of on the outside looking in." Tomlin did note that the Steelers will "leave the door ajar", suggesting that Williams is trending toward doubtful but still has some chance to play. If the 32-year-old misses another game, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman will carry the load against a tough Denver defense.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Iffy for Sunday

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport relays via a source that the chances that Williams (foot) will play on Sunday against the Broncos are "not looking good." Of course it's early in the week, but the report suggests that Williams faces an uphill battle with regard to being available for Sunday's playoff contest. If Williams is unable to return to action this weekend, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman would once again be in line to handle the Steelers' backfield duties, after combining for 28 carries and 123 yards in this past Saturday's 18-16 win over the Bengals.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Officially ruled out

Williams (foot) has been officially ruled out for Saturday's playoff contest against the Bengals. With Williams out for Saturday's Wild Card game against Cincinnati, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman are in line to carry the load in the Steelers' backfield this weekend. In the event that the team advances to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, it's unclear if Williams would be available, but for now the Steelers refer to the running back as day-to-day.

Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams will not play Saturday

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler indicates that the Steelers don't expect Williams (foot) to play Saturday against the Bengals. While the running back has yet to be officially ruled out for the contest, it looks safe to assume that the team's backfield this weekend will be headed by Fitzgerald Toussaint, with Jordan Todman also in the mix to see complementary work in the team's ground game during Saturday's wild-card round tilt.

Steelers' DeAngelo Williams: Misses another practice Thursday

Williams (foot) missed his second straight practice on Thursday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Unless things look up for Williams on Friday, it looks like there's a solid chance that the Steelers will have to turn to a backfield combo of Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman in Saturday's playoff tilt against the Bengals.
