Posluszny has been one of the leaders on the defensive side of the ball, though he hasn't necessarily been someone to scream or yell at his teammates. What he's trying to change, however, is being someone that anyone can turn to on or off the field. "Just having more conversations, making sure I'm available to guys," Posluszny said. "Say, 'Hey, you know you can ask me anything if there's anything I can help you with.' Jaguars, Paul Posluszny agree to 1-year extension

The Jaguars and linebacker Paul Posluszny have agreed to a one-year contract extension, the team announced on Thursday. "We are excited to get an extension done with Paul," Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said in a statement. "Paul is a true pro in every sense of the word. He is a valuable asset on and off the field and has done a great job mentoring our younger players while also performing well on the field." It's possible the Jaguars and Posluszny agreed to this so that the organization could free up some cap space for the 2015 season. Prior to this agreement, Posluszny was set to carry a $9.5 million cap figure this year. Posluszny tore his pectoral last season and only appeared in seven games. After spending his first four NFL seasons with the Bills, Posluszny signed with the Jaguars in 2011. He's entering his fourth season in Jacksonville. Adding a year to his current contract would put Posluszny with the Jaguars through the 2018 season. "I can't say enough about Paul and what he means to our team," Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said. "He is highly respected by his teammates and our coaching staff. You don't measure a guy like Paul with just his stats but the overall impact he has on our team." FOX Sports was the first to report this story.
