    Cardinals announce inactives for Saturday's Wild Card game

    The Cardinals have deemed the following players as inactive for Saturday's Wild Card game against the Panthers: Drew Stanton, Brittan Golden , Chris Clemons , Jonathan Cooper, Alameda Ta'amu, Anthony Steen , and Kareem Martin. Cooper has missed the past two games for Arizona with a wrist injury. The Cardinals are 5 1/2-point underdogs for Saturday's game.

    Cardinals sign safety Chris Clemons after placing Ellington on IR

    The Cardinals have signed safety Chris Clemons after placing running back Andre Ellington on injured-reserve with hip and hernia injuries. Clemons, who played in Miami from 2009-13, signed with the Texans in March but was cut in August. He had 92 tackles and an interception with the Dolphins in 2013.

    Former Dolphins strong safety Chris Clemons is visiting the Lions on Friday, according to CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Detroit is looking to improve what has been a porous secondary. Clemons has been a full-time starter since arriving in the league in 2009. He exceeded 90 tackles in both of the last two seasons with Miami.

    D-line shuffle coming for the Seahawks?

    Seattle's defensive line could look a little different in 2014. USA Today has the scoop on the Seahawks' cap situation and notes that linemen Red Bryant and Chris Clemons are both candidates for a restructured salary, if not a release. Bryant is due a $3 million roster bonus along with a $4.5 million base salary. His total cap number is $8.5 million. Clemons, 32, is due to make $7.5 million in 2014 with a $9.7 million cap number. If the team wants to re-sign Michael Bennett and Tony McDaniel, two free agents, they'd be wise to find cap space for them.
