Texans' Arian Foster: Cleared to jog

Foster (Achilles) has received clearance to jog, Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com reports. Foster logged yet another abbreviated campaign after tearing his right Achilles tendon on Oct. 25. In the meantime, it's been speculated that the Texans intend to move on from the oft-injured running back due to his cap figure of $9 million for the 2016 season. While Foster himself full intends to play again, he'll ease into his rehab process.

Texans' Arian Foster: Expected release coming in March

Foster (Achilles) is expected to be released in March, the Houston Chronicle reports. Foster, 29, has a lot of miles on his legs in a short period of time, limiting him to just 25 games over the past three years. If the Texans choose to go in another direction for the 2016 season, the best in-house option is Alfred Blue, who finished 2015 strong but was spotty until the final four games.

Texans' Arian Foster: Placed on injured reserve

The Texans placed Foster (Achilles) on injured reserve Tuesday. Foster's placement on injured reserve was primarily procedural, as it was revealed following Sunday's game that he would be lost for the rest of the season. Alfred Blue is the favorite to take over as the Texans' running back, but Jonathan Grimes and Chris Polk could get a chance to see more work as well.

Torn Achilles confirmed for Texans RB Arian Foster

An MRI has confirmed that Texans featured back Arian Foster tore his right Achilles tendon in the Sunday loss to the Dolphins, per the Houston Chronicle. Bill O'Brien acknowledged Monday that Foster is out for the rest of the season, with the report further noting that he's on track to undergo surgery and presumably headed for injured reserve. In his absence, the Texans will turn to some backfield combinbation of Alfred Blue and Chris Polk, with Jonathan Grimes in the mix to a lesser degree. Of the three, we suspect that Blue is most likely to get the first chance to head the committee.

Texans RB Arian Foster tears Achilles tendon versus Dolphins

Texans running back Arian Foster suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, NFL.com's Ian Rappaport reports. Foster had a strong game before suffering the injury, compiling 117 total yards and two touchdowns, but the injury is sour nonetheless for fantasy owners. Chris Polk and Alfred Blue are expected to handle the majority of the Texans' backfield touches moving forward, but another back is likely to be added to the roster. Foster will undergo surgery and faces a long recovery road, and it is unclear exactly when we will see him back in an NFL game.

Texans' Arian Foster: Suffers torn Achilles

Foster suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's loss at Miami, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. In the fourth quarter, Foster went down on a clear non-contact injury, which was quickly rumored to be an Achilles tear. Lo and behold, the worst has come to pass, ending his season after just four appearances. With one year remaining on his contract, he may have played his last down with the Texans, as he's previously missed 17 games with an array of ailments since the beginning of the 2010 campaign. In the short term, though, the Texans will turn to a combination of Alfred Blue (toe), Jonathan Grimes (hamstring), and Chris Polk (knee), barring a free-agent addition.

Texans' Arian Foster: Suffers potentially serious Achilles' injury

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests that Foster may have suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. Meanwhile, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle relays via coach Bill O'Brien that Foster's injury "doesn't look good." At this stage, it looks safe to say that Foster -- who was spotted using crutches after Sunday's game -- is going to miss time, quite possibly a long time, so the likes of Alfred Blue and Chris Polk appear destined to see an uptick in carries for Houston in the coming weeks.

Prior to his exit, Foster scored two touchdowns, but if he is forced to miss time with his latest injury, Alfred Blue and Chris Polk would be next up for significant carries.

Texans RB Arian Foster suits up Sunday

Texans top back Arian Foster (groin) is fine for the Week 7 game against Miami. Though Foster is a candidate to continue to see his practice reps managed for rest/maintenance purposes, as long as he's in good health, which he is now, he's on track to continue to head the ground game.
